Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

To be fair, having a six foot frog with a blonde wig and the power of the god of thunder actually does sound like something Waititi would do, if only to mine it for all the Bathos he can.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."
Seconded. After the zaniness of Ragnarok (where, among others, we saw Thor begging Stan Lee not to cut his hair), Frog-Thor would not seem out of place to me.
Cool detail
regarding the Hawkeye series:
Hailee Steinfeld has been seen wearing a shirt that looks just like the one Kate wore in Matt Fraction' Hawkeye run.
It looks like Alfred Molina will return to play Dr. Octopus in the upcoming Spiderman movie.
And Jaime Foxx is returning too.
Benedict Cumberbatch will be Doctor Strange in the film.... this is going to involve multiverses, isn't it?
To quote a Tweet I saw, "Can't we have just one Spider-Man 3 film that doesn't feel overstuffed?"
Like creepy stories? Check out my book!Happy news. ![]()
Shit if were doing sinister six now. Then we already got scorpion, Mysterio, Vulture, Electro and now Doc ock. Just needs Rhino or kraven to complete the set.

Drat. I was hoping they'd put in another lesser-known Spider-Man foe, like Kraven the Hunter. Ah, well...

Trope Editor (he/him)The more people they announce for Spider-Man 3, the less enthused I am. I get why all this is unfolding, but I feel like
a) They had a perfectly good, no-multiverse-needed premise at the end of Spider-Man Far From Home with the whole "being framed for murder" thing, and while there are a bunch of different ways they could have easily fixed it, there were so many interesting possibilities that I feel won't happen if the focus has to be shared with the multiverse prospect
b) The cynic in me feels like the way they're going to solve the leaked identity problem is by having Peter and his supporting cast transplanted to whatever universe designation Sony's movies are, removing him from the broader Marvel universe in case neither company is able to play nice again.
And I hate everything about both of those points.
I maintain that this still doesn’t actually look like a multiverse film. What it looks like is that they’re casting classic actors for resonance’s sake, but much of the actual information we’ve gotten thus far (for example, Jamie Fox indicating that he’s not actually playing the same Electro) leans toward it not actually being multiverse related.
It’s just that the media recognizes that the theory is hyping everyone up and is thus spinning it that way, with all the fake news reports in between not helping.

You know what Love And Thunder needs?
For someone to wear that winged Helmet. If Odinson doesn't want it, give it to Jane. Because that Helmet is what makes Thor Thor, and I'll brook no argument.
