Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Ultimate had a Wolf Spider
, iirc he was an evil version of Peter.
Huh it is funny that Ghost Spider actually fits Miles better than Gwen.
Especially in the Miles game where his invisibility is constantly treated as ghosting by the mooks and he is even outright called a ghost by them.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."And Ghost Spider feels very much “you’re pushing this but it’s not catching on” with Gwen
Forever liveblogging the AvengersPersonally, I think that if/when they add Miles it would probably be as a full-on Legacy Character, after Peter is phased out as an active hero in one way or another.
Ghost Spider very much comes off as trying to make fetch happen, but I get why they're adamant about it. It's not like you can actually have her go by Spider-Gwen in universe. Hilariously, it looks like on some merchandise now they're starting to give up and just call her "Gwen Stacy."

It’s gonna be hard coming up with just as memorable monikers for Miles & Gwen, especially since people just use their regular names to refer to them.
It’s like with Kate Bishop. When people say Hawkeye, they generally always refer to Clint while with Kate they say her name specifically. Even the Marvel’s Avengers game does it with the recent Kate Bishop trailer.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."One of the rough spots of shoving him into the 616 without considering his original context

Funny thing about that: during Avengers: No Road Home, when an illusion of Kate Bishop showed up and started kicking Clint's ass, Rocket Racoon yelled out, oh shit! it's REAL Hawkeye!

One Strip! One Strip! That's just going to intensify considering Clint freefalled his way into dangerous vigilante man in the comics and was framed for putting Cap in the hospital
Forever liveblogging the AvengersShe manslaughtered him at worse.
Nobody told him to fly a jetpack into an imaginary spaceship instead of just taking off the exploding quiver.

Since we are tossing out names for spider themed heroes, I wonder if there is an alternate continuity where Natasha is the one bitten by the spider?
