Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

He’s not giant sized, the comic is. That just means the movie will run long.
I bet the comedians of the Marvel Universe had a field day with that one.
That is, provided they know what the Man-thing is....or rather they know what his name is.
One Strip! One Strip!Any word on if Happy might return for Spider-Man 3? I wouldn't be surprised if he does, and he's listed on the Wikipedia page for the film. But I personally haven't heard anything about it and Wikipedia is not very trustworthy in my experience.

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."There's a part of me that thinks that if Whedon had returned to do the third Avengers film, it probably would've been closer to the comic story. I'm not sure if he would've been split into multiple parts like Infinity War and Endgame, but I can imagine his Thanos being a madman obsessed with Death (if maybe something more akin to a fanatic worshipper than an unrequited lover). It would fit in with the "to challenge them is to court death" line from the first film.

I feel like the Adam Warlock parallel would have been Doctor Strange. It's basically his role in Infinity War either way (the ruthless schemer opposite to Thanos).
"All you Fascists bound to lose."

I didn't really need Spider-Man involved with Doctor Strange, but I am looking forward to Wanda.
