Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

He'd probably need a wheelchair made of adamantium.

Aw, but that's not nearly as funny of a mental image. I want to picture ripped Charles Xavier barreling towards you at top speed, smashing through walls while furiously wheeling his wheelchair with his buff-ass arms.
I actually have one for a superhero horror game I'm working on.

Nope. Either the same superhuman status that makes them stronger also comes with a Healing Factor, or being infused with super powers heals their spines.
I'm reminded of Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer who did spend some time in a wheelchair, but recovered soon enough.
You gotta remember that being Juggie also comes with an insanely powerful Healing Factor. Cain once healed back from being reduced to a skeleton by hellfire.

Disgusted, but not surprisedWolverine's healing factor has always been pretty moderate in comparison to others, honestly.
Certain writers often just go a little overboard with it.
There was also the time were he had no Adamantium, where there was an actual in-universe reason for it being much more powerful than usual.

That's why in the comics, Norman Osborne's plan to kill Deadpool is to cure his cancer.
That said, Hulk's Healing Factor in the comics blows both Logan's and Wade's out of the water.

Disgusted, but not surprisedIt essentially goes completely out of control, culminating in a messy explosion.
Makes sense when you remember that Deadpool's Healing Factor is an artificial one that's basically a knockoff of Logan's.

Disgusted, but not surprisedI remember reading a comic where Wolverine healed up after receiving a missile point-blank (don't remember if it was a nuke or a standard one ). He was reduced as little more than a skeleton (adamantium-coated, but still) after that, but he was up and about in a few panels.
Whatever your favourite work is, there is a Vocal Minority that considers it the Worst. Whatever. Ever!.That was probably during Civil War, where Nitro exploded in his face.
And yeah, that was the most infamous example of a writer turning his Healing Factor Up To Eleven.
I think it was so extreme that they later retconned it into him being jacked up by a supernatural force or something like that.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersX-Men is 80% references by volume. You can really tell what media Chris Claremont was into at any given time.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersYou can also really tell what Chris Claremont's kinks were
He put all of his interests on the page.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWell....it was comic books.
A lot of these guys didn't consider the full consequences of some of their stories.
