Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Eh, classic Silver Age comics tend to follow a pattern of:
- Bruce/Hulk goes to a peaceful location and tries to live life without bothering anyone.
- Someone, either a supervillain or the US Army, disturbs Bruce/Hulk's peaceful happy time.
- Hulk fights his way out of the situation, leaving for a new location to start the cycle anew.
It's easy to forget that it's not just Bruce Banner who wants a quiet, peaceful life. Hulk does, too. Hulk would be perfectly content to just sit in a field of flowers looking at butterflies and relaxing in the sunshine, but the military always has to come in and destroy Hulk's peace and those flowers with their tanks.
The US Army is VERY much the aggressor in this situation, always chasing Hulk down, and Hulk always fights in self-defense and to get away. Obviously, comics have changed since the Silver Age, but I think that's still the ideal dynamic for Hulk and Ross.

"All you Fascists bound to lose."Yeah that seems to be completely off the table by now. And I liked TIH more than most, too. Still think the Hulk design in there was by far the best Live Action one until this day.

Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianI liked The Incredible Hulk more than most as well. I'm in the minority in that I actually prefer Norton over Ruffalo in the role of Bruce. Betty is in my opinion one of the better MCU love interests.
Do you guys think Bruce will appear in the She-Hulk show?

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI was really excited for Shang-Chi, but between the Mulan remake and various other faux pas of Disney's other works, I'm worried it's going to be dragged down by Executive Meddling of questionable racial/national nature.

Mulan and Shang Chi are necessarily made by entirely different groups of people all the way up to the executive level, with the only thing in common being the parent company, so that's unlikely.
People tend to forget that while Disney owns literally all of this, and while the company as a whole does have its mandates and demands, it doesn't directly make the movies involved or often make the decisions involved with that development. The studios do.
What the Mulan situation reflects on the Disney company as a whole is a bad habit of condoning shit decisions from the lower decks if it seems like those decisions will make money. But the person making that decision - good or ill - in Marvel's case would still be Kevin Feige (or whoever Feige's immediate bosses are).

Ross would be that annoying military jackass who hinders the soldiers all while acting like a pompous fool. Which is kinda what his mcu version does.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."
