Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Ultimate Nick Fury is only good in Spider Man and then only sometimes
Also, I’ve become freshly angry about how Bendis did Kraven dirty
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThat's strange, Ultimate Cap is exactly the kind of character people who hate 616 Cap because they don't have any idea of what he's actually like in canon think he is. In other words, a parody of 616 Cap's Hate Dumb played straight. On top of being just plain badly written towards the end.

Admitably the majority of my interest in Ultimates is because of Bryan Hitch's art.
Granted I can get the older trades fir Ultimates 1 & 2 for cheaper than the omnibus but their missing an annual.
I am under an inner debate on whether that one annual is worth paying 72 dollars.

Huh so he's Injustice Superman?

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I prefer Ultimate Cap because he doesn't actually start out as an ideal hero, he gradually transitions into one. And he actually has some ugly sides to him, which makes him more relatable.

That one line seems to have completely defined Ultimate Cap hasn't it?
It's like his Hank slapping Janet moment....which is ironic considering how much worse ultimate Hank Pym was.
One Strip! One Strip! He didn't admit it was stupid; Ultimate Hawkeye congratulated him on how allegedly cool the line was and asked how he came up with it, to which Ultimate Cap responded he just blurted it heat of the moment.
In actual putdowns of the line, 616 Cap during the Winter Soldier arc reminisced about the French Resistance and how he hated when Americans called them cowards, and Ewing's Ultimates brought back Ultimate Cap so he could say the line again and have his butt kicked by America Chavez and then killed by the Maker.

God the Millar Ultimates comic broke an arm patting itself on the back for that line
Forever liveblogging the Avengers

This is what happens when your dad is "The A doesn't stand for France" Cap.
