Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I agree the Inhumans are full of story ideas, the main problem with trying to shove them into the Mutants/X-Men slot is they are not exactly "Hero" material. They are a strict caste/eugenics basic society ruled by an absolute monarchy where if you don't have the right genes to 'qualify' for terrgenisis or develop 'good' powers once you do go through it you are doomed to remain at the bottom of the ladder, they were introed in the comics as VILLIANS IIRC. They are also very 'flashy' and would need allot of production work/value poured into them to make them work on screen. They cannot be done "On the cheap" as Perlmutter found out the hard way.
Only the voice. And Black Bolt not having a voice (that he can use) is kind of his shtick. He could easily do both.

"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."Anson Mount played a pretty great Black Bolt, despite the show he was in.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Yeah saying you just need to look intimidating to play Black Bolt is a misunderstanding of how acting works. Black Bolt doesn't speak but he obviously communicates, and for an actor to play him you need a guy with a strong body language and perhaps Facial Dialogue, same as any silent character who communicates.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Medusa says she can interpret his every slight gesture but I think she’s just saying whatever she likes sometimes
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWhen Anson Mount got cast to play Captain Pike in ST:Discovery he got RAVE reviews at his performance, that performance was one of the factors for the "Strange New Worlds" spin off got green lit. Lots of people stated he was under-used as Black Bolt and could have done much better at the character if he wasn't stuck in the badly written/plotted Inhumans Series.
So yes I'd be in favor of him reprising the role in a DECENT Inhumans adaptation

First, and only, so far.
