Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

But then the one that starred Wolverine was quite possibly the most well-received, so not starring Wolverine isn't the way to go.
In all seriousness, didn't read the comics or get endeared to any of the other characters, so Wolverine being the lead, while noticeable, was never really a problem for me.
Lovecraft Country's Jonathan Majors will be in Ant-Man 3...

(Don't really need to say it, but Kang's film rights were previously with Fox since he (as Rama-Tut) was regarded as a Fantastic Four villain. But now that Disney bought Fox, while SWORD and Madripoor will be appearing first via WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier respectively, Kang is the first formerly Fox-owned Marvel character to make the jump to the MCU!)

Awesome. Definitely makes sense in light of the hints (confirmed?) about the Loki series involving a time travel authority. And of course, Endgame opened up that door.
I at first wondered about why he'd be introduced in an Ant-Man movie, but then I remembered that the MCU's time travel mechanism is linked with Pym Particles.
I hope they do the thing with having another actor (or possibly Majors himself) as Iron Lad, trying to avoid becoming his evil future self.
The article says its a definite cast and a maybe Kang. But it does make some sense because Scott accidentally a time travel.
That's another good reason. Ant-Man was the first mavel movie to use super duper age cgi so they could drop multiple versions of Kang around the plot for comedy.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersFriggin' amazing!
If it's as epic as this, we'll be alright.
As long as the time travel makes sense. My big problem with EMH Kang is that his backstory was nonsensical, but part of that might have been because they arc they wanted to use with him was cut short (screw Jeph Loeb).

Someone else pointed out to me that with Cassie older now because of time nonsense, this is also a great time to start building up the Young Avengers and wouldn't you know it, Kangs were a big part of that.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersSpeed would mean we get a new Speedster. The MCU doesn't have many...what with the only one they did have being not only merely dead, but truly most sincerely dead.
One Strip! One Strip!Huh. Think when they get to Kamala, they'll have her join the Young Avengers?
She's been a full blown Avenger already, and the Champions seem like they are kinda Jr. Avengers in addition to the second coming of The New Warriors (dealing with the fights the Avengers can't).
One Strip! One Strip!I wonder if Spider-Man is still considered young enough for the Young Avengers.
Probably not since Tony technically made him an Avenger in Infinity War. But then again, being gone for five years only to come back might complicate that?
And hey, since Kang is the distant descendant of Reed Richards, could this mean we'll be seeing a biracial Fantastic Four?

I guess it depends on what the Avengers even are post-Endgame with Tony dead, Steve retired, and Thor semi-retired.
If there's an actual Avengers team still being a thing, Spider-Man is probably part of that. If the Young Avengers are the only Avengers on the block, he could get roped into that.
I'd say its best not to pin the team on Spider-Man with the uncertainties of Sony staying playing nice.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersFor the Avengers proper, I would still really love the New Avengers (which did include Spidey, admittedly in contrast to my former statement), which was formed with the concept of "the Avengers were this great organization with a godlike reputation, and we're just people who came together to do the right thing, but by hell we're going to do it better than anyone because that's what we need to do," which would be a great mentality to go forward with.
The lineup for that was Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones (sorta), Dr. Strange, Spidey, Spider-Woman and Ronin - all either characters they are either currently working heavily with or have been encouraged to work with in the near future.
I would dig the Thunderbolts too, though. This is also a perfect time period and setting for that team to be introduced.
