Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I will take an empty theater over any theater with a risk of a kid seating behind me munching loudly on pop-corn or kicking my seat in excitement.
Whatever your favourite work is, there is a Vocal Minority that considers it the Worst. Whatever. Ever!.Mind you, I do have some fond memories of watching Endgame in a packed theater, the day after the release. Some people were a bit too loud indeed, but it was rather fun to hear the cheers or laughs when Cap picked up the hammer or said "Hail Hydra".

Whatever your favourite work is, there is a Vocal Minority that considers it the Worst. Whatever. Ever!.I wasn't able to see Captain Marvel for a few weeks after it released, theater was almost empty and it was relaxing and quiet in there.
Meanwhile when I saw Black Panther on release night, the theater was so packed I was stuck in the front left corner and had a stiff neck after the show.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! For me it is like this:
- Empty: I am too distracted thinking that I am living out a post apocalyptic scene to enjoy the movie.
- Several people: Less disturbing but still feels kind of sad.
- a third or a half full: Just enough people to feel “normal”
- Packed theater: I suddenly remember that I do not actually like people much.
Cinematographer John Mathieson will be shooting
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
What makes this pretty remarkable is how Mathieson has a background in shooting the X-Men movies, namely X-Men: First Class and Logan.

I'm alright with going to empty theaters, personally. Just not during COVID-19 where I'm not going anywhere.
I'm partial to the concept of drive-ins but I don't own a car.
