Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Well, the obvious outcome of this kind of behavior will be every social media celebrity putting out pro-forma posts in support of every cause or unfortunate event, carrying no real weight, but this is also a bit off topic.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"There are rumors Black Widow might be delayed again
due to Tenet flopping domestically. If they move it to 2021 get ready for another set of release date shuffles.
Mulan and New Mutants were essentially Disney letting off fingers go to see if it can keep the hand, in a sense. It was trying to test the waters and see how well that'd go (on streaming and regular theaters, respectively) using products they could afford to lose to predict the approach for a movie they can't (MCU being their golden goose). So far, hasn't gone well (and Mulan's whole "let's film around concentration camps" is bringing them a monumental headache of PR), so I imagine they'll just delay.

"All you Fascists bound to lose."Unfortunately, both of those films having bad buzz sours them as experiments. Mulan for the awful circumstances of its filming and surroundings, New Mutants just for being awful.
New Mutants being sent on the chopping block is pretty funny, though, seeing as it's a holdover from a company they bought, not at all related to their own Marvel properties and ultimately not really a movie they had any reason to have any attachment to whatsoever. It's like sending out Zoidberg to die.
No movie is worth risking your life or the lives of others.
Going to the movies should not be a life or death decision!
Heck, I certainly cannot think of any movie I've watched in the past where I'd say "yes" to the question "Is this movie worth risking the chance that I and/or my family and close friends will die choking on their own lungs?"
Besides, part of the charm of going to a movie theater is watching the movie when it's crowded. There's nothing more creepy than watching a movie theater when you're the only person in the whole room. That's The Ωmega Man level of creepy.
Basically, the circumstances in which watching a movie would normally be most enjoyable would also be when it's most dangerous.

Disgusted, but not surprisedLast time I went to movie theater was in last month when I went to watch Akira, and we had safety measures like limited seats, leaving two-three seats empty between viewers and such, and there were plenty of people watching the movie.
I assure you, I'm perfectly trustable personOver here in England the cinemas have been open since late July with safety measures in place, I've been back 6 times mostly to see films I've never got the chance to see in theatres beforenote or releases of films I've never watched beforenote .
The only new releases I've seen were the English language dub of a Pinocchio movie that was released in Italy last year (which surprisingly had the biggest turnout since the reopening of cinemas), TENET and The New Mutants (which I'd assumed was the actual release, but it turned out to be an advanced preview for the Bank Holiday weekend).
Really? Maybe it's because I'm not really a people person, but I've always found being surrounded by other people a flaw rather than a feature when going to the cinema. That's why I always try to get the earliest possible morning showing on opening day whenever a new film comes out, so there will be less people about. I'm always disappointed whenever it looks like I'm gonna be the only one at a showing, and then someone walks in at the last minute just as the trailers are ending (which happened at The New Mutants).

Eh, I wouldn't be surprised. Crap, I didn't post anything about Boseman. I might be run out of town...
