Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Oh, you mean the Reverend Doctor Michael Ibn al-hajj Achebe, P.H.D.
Or as he's sometimes called, "Bob."
While its easy to do the character without Mephisto, cause I doubt they want to bring him for a Black Panther movie, his big story is taking over Wakanda in a semi-legitimate way...which was just done in the first Black Panther movie, so they'd have to try something a little different.
Mojoworld being mentioned as existing in the Fox X-Men universe in Deadpool 2 was legitimately one of the most shocking revelations in a recent superhero film to me.
On the topic of Deadpool, while it seems clear at this point that Ryan will continue to be Deadpool into the MCU (thank God for that, cannot imagine anyone else in the role), what are you guys' thoughts on his supporting cast? Keep the same characters and actors from his movies (aside from TJ Miller, of course. And, come to think of it, probably Colossus, since they'll probably want to use him as a part of their X-Men reboot), or just give him a completely new supporting cast, while having him lampshade where all his old friends went?
I ask because I really wanna see Dopinder again. I just love that little guy.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonThey can probably keep a few characters like Dopinder and Blind Al.
They'll need to recast a lot of others though (such as Collosus like you mentioned, and probably Domino as well).
In fact, I expect pretty much all the mutant characters to be recast.
One Strip! One Strip!I wouldn't be surprised if Mephiso appears in movie form as the source of a kind of evil mysticism that Achebe can influence.
Rather than an outright character himself, basically how it would go is that hearing the word of Mephisto would be presented as Achebe's Evil Counterpart to T'Challa's ability to attune himself with the Panther Realm and gain advice from his ancestors.
Unfortunately, I think they'd have to hold off on Negasonic and Yukio as well for a bit, at least until the X-Men are fully established in the MCU. When that happens, though, I think those two are probably good to stay as they are, more or less. They wouldn't have Colossus (at least, not the same dynamic with him), but would probably remain fixtures of the DP series and not have much to do with the main X-Men stuff.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonCable could also stay the same, since Brolin doesn't have to double as Thanos anymore and his connection to the Summers family wasn't established in DP2. I really hope Domino stays the same, too.

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonYeah, I accidentally pressed backspace instead of the edit button at first. My bad.

Yeah, that's why I'm thinking Dopinder, Blind Al, Negasonic and Yukiko are good (and maybe Russell, Vanessa, Cable, and Domino), plus Weasel with a recast (preferably someone completely different from TJ Miller as a gag), but since Colossus is one of the premiere X-Men, he's probably the only one who would be wholly reinvented for the sake of using him in the mainline X-Men stuff.

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonMaybe they'll do something like the old X-Men universe ends up collapsing because of all the time-travel and retcon shenanigans, so Deadpool's cast manages to flee to the MCU where things are a bit more stable?
Might be a bit cruel for the old canon, but the X-Men always have a Bad Future awaiting them one way or another.

As a throwaway gag?Sure
But I think fans of the Xmen would be a little bummed at the implications(I would be anyway)Xmen have had a rough ride thanks to Fox so I don't think rubbing it in is the way forward
have a listen and have a link to my discord serverSomebody just ruined Endgame even further for me :<
They pointed out that Thanos could've won by just immidiately ordering his ships to rain fire on the heroes the second they stepped out of the portals, with minimal losses, since the armies were relatively far apart at the beginning.

Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianWhile this is very dependent on the precise events of the "Multiverse of Madness", I'd love to see Deadpool and a few members of his supporting cast get pulled into the MCU from the Fox X-Men-verse as a consequence of the events of Doctor Strange 2. This fact is revealed in the second after credits scene rather then in the movie proper.
By the time we catch up with Deadpool for either Deadpool 3 or a proper cameo, he's already settled in to his new home and lampshades the change in continuity.

Really?
Honestly, I do not think it would have made much of a difference; They came out of these portals relatively fast, the entrance being merely stretched for dramatic effect and so we would see everyone come out. Plus the distance was still small enough that they might have reached him before he would have had time to give the order.
I swear, people like this sound like they're looking for things to nitpick at.

Random casting idea: Keith David as Achebe.
