Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Patrick Stewart could make comics Xavier more likeable i bet.
And Mc Avoy.
Man it’s creepy how we’re supposed to support Logan getting it on with a woman who’s already in a long-term relationship with another guy.
In the movies' defense, I don't think we are supposed to support it. Jean makes it clear that she prefers Scott at the end of it all and when they're kissing in 3, Logan is shown to be uncomfortable and it's clear it isn't Jean but the Phoenix without any inhibitions.
The whole thing seems to be played in a deliberately creepy manner.
Part of the problem is that Wolverine does get the last word on the subject since he gets to pine for her and make it seem like their relationship was more substantive than 'guy creeps on girl with boyfriend'
Forever liveblogging the AvengersHopefully a romance with Logan is never mentioned. Because it is not exageration to say that it always makes all 3 look terrible.
Scott looks like a cuckolded loser, Logan a massive jerk for going after a woman in a serious relationship & a gross one depending on the age difference, & Jean always becomes an object for the men to fight over.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Hate to be blunt, but they BETTER go nuts with the X-Lore. Fox was lazy AF with the X-Lore, but the MCU has proven that cosmic craziness can TOTALLY get people's attention.
Give us Excalibur, Sauron, the Savage World, Mojo, Mojoworld, Mister Sinister, Arcade, the SHI'AR! All the crazy stuff! Do not hold back on us, Feige!
In the comics, Cyclops' father is a badass space pirate. Please let that make it into the movies.
Ukrainian Red CrossLast page's video on Cyclops is why I actually don't want mutants to be a big part of the mainstream MCU. I want the mutants to have a lot of space to breathe and be given depth and growth that isn't rushed, and I worry that only the biggest or more established characters on both sides of the AVX will see development. Yeah the Fox-men films didn't spend any good time on Jubilee, Gambit, Rogue, Storm, Cyclops, etc., I just hope there will be better, but am doubtful how.
Also, I really want to see them telling their own stories without too much more handwaving of why Superman stays out of Gotham.
Someone did a fan art of M'Baku as Grimlock from Transformers
.

It's pretty funny how Charles and Scott are complete opposites of each other in terms of popularity in comics vs movies.
In the comics, Scott's an amazing character and Charles is a big creep.
In the movies, Charles is a sweet grandpa and Scott's a big loser.
The legend has returned.
