Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Kang also thought he might be Doom's descendant at one point.
Guy has no idea.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersOnce Reed enters the equation there wouldn't be any reason to connect Kang to a character who's dead & no longer has any relevance aside from the characters most directly connected to him...... so Rhodey essentially.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I mean theres no reason to have him related to anyone
He's from a thousand years in the future. That's so many generations that he could be related to every important character.
And it wouldn't matter!
Forever liveblogging the AvengersIf you want the proper experience, switch the second and third film there; Ant-Man and the Wasp's post-credits scene specifically hinges on you having seen Infinity War beforehand.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Would he still be granted access to the Ancestral Plane?
Most of the bad stuff Tony did in Civil War was in the tie-ins. In the main book, he was trying to limit the harm caused by the pro-reg side and end the conflict with as little bloodshed as possible. Steve is actually the bigger asshole in the main book where he keeps escalating the conflict past what is reasonable until he realizes how far he’s gone and turns himself in.
[[quoteblock]] Make him...somewhat humble too. Yeah, he's smart, he knows he's smart, and maybe he can be Innocently Insensitive about it, but he never actively seeks to lord it over everyone, and doesn't think he's got anything to prove.
The Tim Storey movies and World’s Greatest Heroes animated series made Reed much nicer than he was in the comics. So it isn’t impossible.
That last bit, is reasonable but Spidey is getting his brains far more emphasized in later adaptations.
Like he's smart but not like a super genius or a Reed Richards in the making like some versions would have you believe. Marvel's Spider-Man had the Great Power line written as an equation for christ's sake.
Besides, if you have supervillains either smart or stupid, people will make assumptions either way.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"With killmonger: I mean, Gninja is right in some sense because for all sympathic eric is, he is also a edgelord: uber violence, belive to know better than everyone, is villian name IS killmonger(or Ki115onger, probably) is just the context give a sort of gravitas around him rather than just being a huge ass.
And yeah, I think he deserved to be redemdeed, probably smack around a little bit to wipe is pretenious out of him, but HE DOES deserve a shot of redemption.
On richard....I think future movie would make better of use his genius skill isnt?.
Also I want to see spiderman interact with the four, as nod to the comics.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Tony in the main book still put up a concentration camp in the Negative Zone, made a Thor clone that murdered a friend and rationalized it away ("Any police officer would've reacted the same way" IIRC which....yeah, did NOT age well).
So yeah, even in the mainbook I think the Pro Reg side was far worse.
Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianI think the Negative Zone was always a place where living is not nice, yeah.
Also, it doesn't really matter if the most heinous actions happen in the tie-ins or not as they are canon either way.
I for one am glad that Tony got rehabilitated after Dark Reign.
But Civil War 2 wasn't much better, in many aspects it was even worse, just with Tony on the more reasonable position this time, ironically.

Man, i'm pretty glad Peter gets to miss out on these events. Poor Miles has to put up with this shit. Secret Empire and Civil War 2 did Miles dirty.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"

Considering that comics Kang is a descendant of Nathaniel Richards (Reed Richards' father), that wouldn't be much of a stretch.
Yes, that means Reed Richards is Kang's great-great-great-great (etc.)...grand-uncle.
