Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Welp, Loeb can go fuck himself. For obvious reasons, I'm not exactly thrilled about a media creator saying stuff like "nobody cares about Chinese people and Asian people."
Guess I'm never re-reading The Long Halloween ever again.

Disgusted, but not surprisedI imagine that's gonna happen quite a bit more often in the next few years, as more and more pedestals break and a lot more creators reveal their darker sides and actions.
One Strip! One Strip! Not to mention they may one day want to make a movie featuring Stallone's Ravagers crew - IE the original lineup of the Guardians of the Galaxy - since they're all unique named characters with history. The character Stallone played has some potential - not a whole lot, but it's definitely not unlikely we'll see him again in Guardians 3 and maybe beyond.
Sigourney's best bet is to be recast as a less throwaway character, with everyone quietly pretending she hasn't been in the MCU already.
Casting a celebrity is way to make a minor but important character memorable.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersIt's maybe a bit too much Actor Allusion, but I wouldn't mind seeing Sigourney as Abigail Brand. Or if not Sigourney, then Daisy Ridley.

If you want an Actor Allusion, you'd cast her as one of the Brood.
A video by Youtube host Super Frame where he proposes his idea for an MCU Fantastic Four movie. The team are an exploration crew sent into space by SWORD. Reed and Ben remain scientist and pilot, Sue is in charge of statistics and Johnny is their security officer. The villain is Annihilus, and the cosmic storm that empowers the Four is a result of him trying to open up a tear in space to our dimension.
It's from 2018 and is 12 minutes long.

This proposed origin change seems to be Truer to the Text just altered to fit better into the MCU.

Well, they have been introducing SWORD at the end of Far from Home, so at least this would tie nicely with the existing universe.
Regarding Spiderman's foes, I rather like the fact that the MCU movies have so far involved villains who had not appeared in a previous movie adaptation. Spiderman has enough interesting foes to allow keeping the trend, no matter how much I'd like to see another Doc Ock. And there remains probably a lot of people Iron Man has pissed off.
Whatever your favourite work is, there is a Vocal Minority that considers it the Worst. Whatever. Ever!.
I just hope if they have another Spidey villain then they should have nothing to do with Stark.
Now watch as they retcon Mac Gargan as Tony Stark's former gardener and he was pissed when Tony's pet Scorpion bit him.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"
Wasn't Mac Gargan injured during the fight on the ferry with the FBI, who were there because because Stark called them?
Drat. Now I actually want to see that happen. Either of them, really.
Hey, I think the pandemic's made me lose track of time, but did we ever establish if SHIELD was still a thing anymore? Yeah, Agents of SHIELD is still on, but it's really more about Coulson and Friends, right?
I'm still of the mindset that SWORD will be interpreted as a natural evolution of SHIELD, which can fit the theme of Fury wanting Earth (and any other planets who want to be friends with Earth) to be more proactive in case the next Thanos tries to eff everyone over.

No, no. The scientist that give Scorpio his suit/powers was a Stark ex-worker that is angry at Tony because reasons, and now wants to kill his protegee as revenge.
And as for Kraven, Stone was a huge fan of his show and a big sponsor through Stark Company, and with the change of managmeent after Tony change of heart, that sponsor money stopped, angering Kraven and now hunting Spidey as revenge.
As for the F4, they should go all crazy and go with the Mole Man as the starter villain, bonus point if you involve Tony as his motivation
Make it that he wanted to make excursions into the subterranean world and Tony laughed at how stupid the idea it was, and kicked his favorite mole pet for shit and giggles, and now the Stak company is doing the first space excursion with the F4 and is sabotaged by the Mole Man as revenge. They get their powers and blah blah.
And just for fun, introduce Magneto as a side villain to show Richards "genius" by creating the wood pistol
