Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Ive actually been reading the second Shooter run recently. Tigra is a pretty fun character there
But when the team badly tried to stop Molecule Man from eating Earth she can’t bring herself to kill him and later when the team is debating whether to kill him when he’s unconscious or not, Tigra tells him to get his shit together so hard that Molecule Man agrees to go to jail and start therapy
The trying his best to be good Molecule Man of Secret Wars 1 and so on is thanks to Tigra
I’m fine with her not being a “Logan”

Wake me up at your own risk. You just know if they brought in Tigra, the internet will be filled with comparisons to Cats. And that's a pretty heavy shadow to hang over a new character.
Wonder Woman will probably be a trilogy. So you still have WW3 for them both to show up.
I’m think Cheetah will used in a werewolf type of villain.
But having Tigra in a MCU film might be pushing it. Then again, there’s a rumor Disney + will have a Werewolf by Night show, or he’ll show up in Moon Knight.
So they’re may still be hope for Tigra.

So for anyone still doubting if Zendaya's character is MJ we have confirmation that she is @59:35.
Interestingly, the interview is with trans actress MJ Rodriguez, who actually took her stage name from Mary Jane Watson and is a fan of the character. A sorta real life parallel of the "Jackpot" situation!
Yeah, that wasn't exactly a big brain moment from those idiots. It was blatantly obvious. This new Spider-Man is breaking all kinds of "rules" that the purists had invented in their heads, and is far better for it in my opinion. Also, Zendaya is fantastic.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I kind of get the feeling some of the people who wanted to doubt who her character was also overlap with some of the people who were mad that she pointed out that the Washington Monument was built by slaves. Like this condescending Slate article
that goes out of its way to call her Michelle in every paragraph. Personally I'd say the film's "glaring flaw" was that the entire plot hinged on the slective irresponsibility of both Tony and Happy, forcing Peter and Ned to act effectively alone.
(The White House, the US Capitol Building and its "statue of freedom", Wall Street, Harvard Law School, and many other buildings and landmarks definitely were, while the Washington Monument was built at least in part by slaves, making the scene not inaccurate)

Iirc the director of Homecoming was like “nah, she’s not really MJ” after the movie came out, and the situations surrounding the movie gave off the impression that the character was always just going to be Michelle before they decided to nickname her MJ for brand recognition.
It’s only relatively recently that we’re starting to get WOG to the tune of “she’s this universe’s equivalent to Mary Jane.” Before they were bluntly two separate characters.

That team with Ares also had the Sentry on it. Tony was really at his worst during this time period.
Thankfully, after Dark Reign, he has gotten much better.
