Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Of note: one of the upcoming Disneyland attractions is a Spider-Man one that advertises customizable Spider Bots
, much like Galaxy's Edge's build-a-droids.
After catching up on the latest from of the Amazing Spider-Man's comics, my desire to have Kraven be the Big Bad of the next film only grows.
I like the plot idea that since the authorities (who must have gotten info from SHIELD) won't prosecute Spider-Man, Jameson puts a bounty on him a la the early comics or Spider-Man's comics Civil War stuff, resulting in a bunch of villains - Scorpion, etc, maybe even the Smythes / Spider-Slayers - coming out of the woodwork to cash in. The city turns into a warzone, but the biggest problem ends up being Kraven, an absolute psychopath who only cares about hunting and defeating a superhuman to prove his might.
Then halfway through Jameson realizes he's wrong and tries to call it off, but lol Kraven ain't having that. Then Spidey has to decide whether giving himself up is worth it to spare the city and all that jazz, whatever. The plot writes itself.
It could also (and did, in the comics) work with Scorpion and Spencer / Alistaire Smythe in the Big Bad slot and Kraven in one of the minor slots, or really any villain (though those fourth work the best for it), but I like Kraven the most for it. Though I guess mostly because he's fresh in my mind. I like the idea of the city just devolving into chaos as tons of minor supervillains hit the streets hunting Spidey, and ensemble cast of villains but not quite the Sinister Six.

I really think Scorpion needs to be in the next film. All the pieces are in place, they just need to be fit together: he was introduced at the end of Homecoming, Spidey is on the run, JJJ is the one who put him on the run, JJJ in the comics made Scorpion as a superhero. If Scorpion starts out masquerading as a superhero, he can hunt Spidey who's on the run. It practically writes itself.

That's sort of what I was thinking too. Hmmm... While we know Thunderbolt Ross doesn't hate the heroes (he was at Stark's funeral and remorseful after all; he seems like he's just trying to do his job in an obstinate, By-the-Book Cop way), maybe he attempts to bring in Spider-Man using some sort of hybrid Thunderbolts/Sinister Six storyline that also plays into the Accords? That is, if they're still a thing in the wake of the Snap.
But I still like the idea of JJ whipping things up beyond either of their control, Kraven in particular. and if Kraven doesn't excessively endanger people, he may not end up inprisoned, and could be available for a bit part in a Black Panther sequel.
I just watched this video
.
What are the biggest Mephisto stories? I'm thinking of the various ways he could tie in to the MCU going forward.
- The potential to tie in to Wandavision and/or Doctor Strange 2, as the video mentioned
- Potentially reestablishing Peter's secret in Spider-Man... Homeless?, as a less shitty One More Day.
- being an inspiration for Achebe in a Black Panther sequel.
- Having some connection to vampires in Blade. Yes I know this one's a stretch.

The crux of One More Day was breaking up Peter and Mary Jane so that Pete could be Younger and Hipper. MCU Peter and MJ are still teens and have only just crossed the first date.
I've joked about it in the past, but at least according to this rumor site
, there are plans to have Starfox in the MCU.
Not the anthropomorphic fox. Thanos' brother who has basically the same powers as the Purple Man and uses them the same way. But is a hero.
... I really seem to be missing a lot by not reading enough comics.

I wouldn't mind if they had all the drones destroyed, and he rebuilds one from the scraps, but makes it much less lethal and more spider themed.
