Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier can get back to filming in Prague...there just need to be some massive hygienic guidelines for the crew.
Good idea or bad idea?

I don't think they should be re-starting anything right now. I'm not convinced it's safe anywhere....but I'm also massively paranoid.
I work at a Grocery store, and live with two people who'd be in big ass trouble if I got infected since they have previous issues.
Even if it's impractical, if it were my choice, I wouldn't let anything that wasn't absolutely necessary re-open until we had a vaccine.
One Strip! One Strip! It’s way too early, even if people are taking every precaution, I would hold off until at the very least, we have symptom treatment. The flu, to use an often bandied about example, has over the counter and prescription medications specifically for its symptoms. We don’t have those treatments for COVID-19 as of yet, not consistently effective ones anyway.

Not exactly MCU related, SAN DIEGO COMIC CON IS GOING ONLINE!!!
Think we'll hear something from Marvel Studios there? ![]()

Guess what, maybe I'll finally be able to attend a San Diego comic con some day after all (the thousandth of kilometres between my home and San Diego have always been a problem for me).
Whatever your favourite work is, there is a Vocal Minority that considers it the Worst. Whatever. Ever!.I should note that I read an interview somewhere with Sony's head that they want to keep the deal going as long as possible. I just don't remember where I read it.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadConsidering Miguel appeared in Spider-Verse I’m fairly sure Sony holds the rights
Forever liveblogging the AvengersSony and Disney can't even reach an agreement to put the Tom Holland Spider-Man films on Disney+. I expect to see that before I'll give credit to rumors of developing exclusive Disney+ Spider-content.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Sorry, folks, but Bounding into Comics and Mikey Sutton are notorious for being VERY unreliable sources, so I wouldn't put too much stock in anything those guys say.
Unless SDCC Online has Marvel and Sony jointly announcing this kind of stuff as an extension to their Spider-Man sharing deal, I say we move along.
That would be a healthy first step to any supposed plan to tighten the Spider-Man sharing deal.

Going to lead with I don't think it's being worked on, but last I checked, Sony only owns the film rights, don't they? Meaning Marvel Studios very well could make a Disney+ series about Miguel O'hara and it wouldn't violate anything.
And while ordinarily I would say "well why bother if the character can't cross over into the movies?", the fact that 2099 is an alternate possible future means that it could very easily exist in its own self-contained bubble.
Granted, still don't think it's happening, but I think it's more because it would probably make Sony mad and I presume Marvel/Disney don't want to do anything that could jeopardize a future deal to keep Spider-Man in the MCU than because of any red tape saying they can't do it.

I think Iron Man is just recently that big of a deal.
Wake me up at your own risk.
