Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

While promoting his Quibi exclusive anthology horror series, 50 States of Fright, Sam Raimi looked back at the Doctor Strange gag from Spider-Man 2, basically confirming that yup, he's doing Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness!
Just found out about this:
Never even heard of this dude. If these guys are right, that cuts so deep, it'll take years to stop bleeding.
One Strip! One Strip!Well, I posted the video expecting people to watch it, but I guess a synopsis won't hurt:
In the 1970's, during the time that Steve gave up the Captain America mantle and became Nomad, a dude named Roscoe Simons decided to become the new Captain America, even earning Sam's respect and getting the shield. Roscoe got killed by the Red Skull, and this inspired Cap to re-don the Captain America mantle to avenge him and prevent others from being killed trying to replace him.
In Endgame, during Steve and Tony's trip to the 1970's to get the Tesseract and move Pym particles for the return trip, Steve is wearing the uniform of someone named Roscoe.
The poster of the video assumes it's a very subtle homage to Roscoe Simons (the fact that the time period for when it takes place is the same time Roscoe debuted in the comics could support this). It's all circumstantial evidence though.
I never heard of Roscoe, but I could buy it myself.
One Strip! One Strip!Rules state that if you post an external link you're supposed to summarize it for those who can't or don't feel like going through the whole thing.
I guess it would work considering all the Continuity Porn, though I don't know if I'd consider it a dark easter egg.

...huh. Could have sworn I've posted some pics without bothering to explain them before.
Well, It's fixed now. That's on me.
One Strip! One Strip! You forget, the MCU has another Simmons that might have confused the issue.
Plus, I don't know of many Roscoes in Marvel.
Again though, this is just a theory. There's no evidence of it at all.
One Strip! One Strip! It could just be more of a shout-out than saying that’s who he got the uniform from. Not the most elegant answer, but perhaps they figured that not as many people (out off, like, five, but still) would get the reference if it was Simmons.
Oh God! Natural light! The Film and Television Industry Alliance put up listings for She-Hulk
◊ and Spider-Man 3
◊. Though due to the pandemic still going on, they might be outdated.
Specifically, She-Hulk was planning to shoot on July 6, 2020 and Spider-Man 3 was planned to shoot from July 13 to October 30th of 2020, which, assuming SM3 keeps its production date, would mean tough luck for anyone thinking Daredevil would appear since Marvel Studios isn't allowed to use him until November 29, 2020.

Marvel has been talking with John Krasinski about...something.
Might he finally be the patriarch of Marvel's First Family? Or could he be Kang the Conqueor? Professor X?
Oh, and Spider-Man 3 is still set for Summer 2021?
