Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Eh, it’s a reminder that it’s probably a case of Too Soon.
Every production is on hold for now, except What If, I think.
Female writers, actors and celebrities always labelled "controversial" for saying or doing things that make them anything more than "seen, but not heard:" making the same jokes than men to, having opinions, etc.
Especially in big pop culture series like Marvel and Star Wars, where the fandoms love the exclusive narrative of "women are ruining are cool nerd stuff!" and always try contrive reasons why women in development shouldn't be trusted with control.
I'm gonna Nth that "doesn't like South Park" and "was called a SJW" (it's more telling that people are still unironically using that as an insult) does not equate to the show being "rife with controversy."

Remember, Spider-Man 3 is a Sony movie, so we don't know where it's getting wedged. But it got delayed as well no thanks to the coronavirus pandemic.

Shang-Chi is gonna miss that Lunar New Year release date now. Bummer.
There's a writer attached, one of the women who worked on WandaVision
. But nothing beyond that so far.
Since the whole schedule's been moved, I want to ask:
Are we ever going to find out who bought Avengers Tower?
Last I checked, the popular theories over who bought the tower were either the Fantastic Four or Norman Osborn with the latter being seen as unlikely for reasons I can't remember. (Something about him being used too often or something?)
But then I realized, unless I'm mistaken, the "Avengers Tower getting bought by someone" plot thread was only ever brought up in the MCU!Spider-Man movies, so what if it IS Osborn?
Just a reminder, Everett Ross was telling the government everything he knew about Wakanda as soon as he got home, and giving them a timetable about how quickly they could stage a coup to install a puppet democratically-elected leader.
My various fanfics.... What.
Whatever your favourite work is, there is a Vocal Minority that considers it the Worst. Whatever. Ever!."Timetable: None time. I saw their leader get disposed in a fist fight and die and then he came back and killed the usurper in another fist fight after they both fell a mile down a hole. God help us all if we fucks with that."
Forever liveblogging the AvengersPeyton Reed, who directed the previous two installments, 2015’s Ant-Man and 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, is back as director, having closed his deal last fall.
Paul Rudd is expected to return as Scott Lang, the heist-hearting hero with the power of petiteness in the new installment.
The deal was wrapped up in the early days of Hollywood’s shutdown, according to sources, and Loveness has already commenced writing.
Marvel has yet to publicly announce the project and seeing as writing is just getting underway, it is unclear when Ant-Man 3 would shoot. Sequels Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder were slated to shoot this year but the coronavirus pandemic has thrown all of Hollywood’s production schedule upside down. On Friday, Disney reshuffled the release dates of its movie slate, pushing back the series of Marvel films known as Phase 4.

Eh, Ant-Man 1 was supposed to fail horribly. Maybe his real superpower is to have his movies be good even when every evidence points to the contrary.

And even then she would not be the first person to put her foot in her mouth when saying something about Covid 19.
That's one useless page topper
