Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

But then she became a Bride of Immortus but that turned out to be a space phantom and then she disappeared until Annihilation and then joined the Guardians of the Galaxy and fast forward to now and apparently the Cotati have secretly infiltrated Earth and a Kree-Skrull Alliance is all set to invade Earth in order to stop the Cotati in an event called Empyre.
She leads a rich full life now that she’s gotten that Madonna nonsense behind her
Although some guardians of the galaxy content acts like she still has yet to do it?
Also it’s ongoing and all so withholding most judgment but I’m not going to love if Cotati actually secretly evil all along. Anything that attempts to retroactively justify the Kree genociding their neighbors out of petty jealousy is a no go

Forever liveblogging the AvengersI mean, apparently the Celestial Messiah is supposed to be "the most important person in the universe," but they haven't actually done anything yet. Although they are supposed to appear in Empyre, so...we'll see.
The preview for Avengers: Empyre actually uses that as backstory before the Avengers arrive on the Blue Area of the Moon to discover that it's now the Green Area of the Moon.

I’m sad that Uatu died before the landscapers arrived
He would have been jazzed
Forever liveblogging the AvengersTalking about Uatu, I wonder if the Watchers will get properly introduced into the MCU.
Whatever your favourite work is, there is a Vocal Minority that considers it the Worst. Whatever. Ever!.If the Watchers do get a role, I hope Aron is an antagonist. It's rarely touched upon in the comics, but it's actually a really good thing that the Watchers have a code against messing around with other races. Because Watchers are hideously powerful. Like, Celestial level powerful. Aron showed just how bad a Watcher can be if they decided to ignore the code against interference and did their own thing.
Disgusted, but not surprisedThat code is part of why I love the occasional Uatu interference to give heroes something of a fighting chance in some absurdly stacked-against-them scenario. The heroes almost always ask "but why can't do you more though" and Uatu always responds with something like "motherfucker I'm already way out of order here, don't make me lose my goddamn job".
It's great. He's like Mr. Incredible working in the office early in the film.
"You know, Uatu, the watchers are just like one big clock..."

"All you Fascists bound to lose."Meh. Trying to Justify an Alien Non-Interference Clause by making an alien who doesn't follow it evil seems cheap to me.
Apparently the director for Doctor Strange & the Multiverse stepped down and Sam Raimi is allegedly being approached as a replacement. This has of course fueled rumors of the plot involving the Spider-Man Trilogy universe and a return of Tobey Maguire.

The original justification the Watchers' code had was that the last time they tried to uplift a species it ended with the species wiping itself out in a war.
Disgusted, but not surprisedFrequently-Broken Unbreakable Vow.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Original Sin revealed that this is because he never believed in the code. His father was the Watcher who apparently screwed up that species — Uatu however always believed that the Watchers shouldn't let one admittedly cataclysmic failure be an excuse to never help out others again.
Disgusted, but not surprised

But after all that she basically started backpacking around space and hanging with the Silver Surfer
It was neat
