Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

The idea that Carol needs another character to bounce off of isn't entirely wrong, but it's also not really a problem in need of a solution because the first Captain Marvel movie already set up such a character: Monica Rambaeu.
That all being said, there are all sorts of characters who could make an appearance in Captain Marvel 2, Wolverine is among them. But that's more because, like all MCU films, it takes place in an interconnected universe and Marvel is always going to be looking for cross-over possibilities.
Straight man/comic relief is such a standard formula in storytelling that it'd be hard to find a work where it isn't used to some extent. Except in very rare examples, the protagonist is the straight man. Yet for some reason we freak out when that role is played by a female.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"
No really? I mean quill and gamora are that, and you can said tony is comedy man, just not a goofball.
I will said carol really need someone to complement her, like cap they are very stright foward and that can come as bland.
Falcon, bucky and natasha did a wonderfull job bring the best of cap and saving being for being dull as hell, carol need something like that.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Well, some films break the formula by having everyone be comic relief. That's more of the exception that proves the rule.

◊. Some folks are thinking dude in the middle is Battlestar, John Walker's sidekick.
So, is Walker gonna be the asshole he's portrayed as in comics, or will he be more nuanced?
One Strip! One Strip!Walker's comic portrayal wasn't actually as black and white as "asshole Cap" leads people to believe. His entire arc was basically about a troubled and flawed young man trying to become The Cape, and then having a complete fucking meltdown when the pressure from that eventually got to him. He initially thought Steve Rogers was a wuss, but was forced to accept that Steve was clearly a much stronger man than him if he was able to actually be Captain America without cracking.

And then....he rekt their shit.
Like hardcore. Scans Daily has that issue where it happened. Man it was some scary shit.
One Strip! One Strip!https://mcucosmic.com/2020/02/28/squadron-supreme-rumored-to-appear-in-loki/
I have nothing against Hyperion, but I would like they to confirm characters that have had a closer relationship with Loki in the comics, such as Amora, Verity, Lorelei, among others.
I can't help thinking that the series as a whole will be just a Poorly Disguised Pilot.

I was almost certain that Bruce would be The Ghost
That is to say, Jennifer would mention that she received a blood transfusion from her cousin, but that's it.

I wonder if there will be a hope that Thor has a cameo in his brother's series.

For obvious reasons (CG) it'll likely only be in a couple episodes at most. Maybe even do what the failed She-Hulk pilot did and have him just show up in the first episode for the transfusion.
Unless they find an excuse to have Hulk back in his human form, which in that case is easier because you just have to worry about Mark Ruffalo's salary.
- Bruce: Hey guys, I'm here in my human form to give blood.
- Jen: Wait, didn't you and the Hulk merge or something in Endgame? It happened offscreen so the details weren't really clear.
- Bruce: Yeah. And in Infinity War, I couldn't become the Hulk at all. And in Ragnarok, I became the Hulk permanently and would never, ever be in human Banner form again. Nobody cares what my status quo was in the last movie.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.If I had to guess, I'd think that the explanation would be that Professor Hulk changed back to Banner at some point in order to heal his arm. Or else, you could just have it that Professor Hulk gives a transfusion to Jennifer. I know the Hulk tends to have impenetrable skin, but that's generally in connection with his Unstoppable Rage, which wouldn't apply here.

We gotta have those mutants!
Especially when Fox did Rogue and Mystique rather poorly.
