Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Still swapping tools that require a lot of expertise to use isn’t generally the best idea

Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianMy understanding is that the original planned resolution to Ms. Marvel's mysterious pregnancy arc ended up being very close to a What if? comic released just prior so they scrambled to come up with a different resolution in a very short amount of time and didn't really think things through.
Admittedly that's still not a very good excuse, but it is nonetheless how it happened.
Jim Shooter, George Pérez, Bob Layton, and David Michelinie all get writing credit for Avengers 200
None of them can claim to remember how it happened but Jim Shooter said that ultimately blame should fall to him because he was the EIC and the buck didn’t stop with him
Forever liveblogging the AvengersOld Man Logan, then, is essentially Logan's Unforgiven and it takes a lot from it. There are just several details where you have to just yell "What was Miller thinking?" Like the Hulk Gang — Miller could have simply gone with the Leader's children or the Abomination Gang or something like that, but nope, he had to make Bruce Banner go crazy from gamma radiation, rape his own cousin, and produce kids from that. It's so out of nowhere that you just kind of have to ignore it, because the rest of the story is better.
And then, of course, there's the ending to the story, which makes sense in regard to it being Unforgiven, but still hurts: Logan's wife and children were all killed by the Hulk Gang before the deadline just because they were bored. As I said: it's bleak, but it started out bleak, so the ending makes sense in that context. We just don't get to see Logan do any sort of, you know, mourning.

There are rumors that Marvel is looking for an "Alison Brie-type" for Jennifer Walters.
So they should just totally get Alison Brie, right?
In fairness according Mary Pickford he wasn't in costume at the time.
