Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

The other women in the same scene have grievances against guy villains so it wouldn’t have been a jarring change if it was another villain

Forever liveblogging the AvengersWait, what did Oliver Queen and Roy Harper do? Hell, in the comics, Shado was the one who took advantage of Oliver, not the other way around, even though later writers tried to insist that he "cheated" on Dinah (he had been injured and was delirious at the time, although Shado claimed not to know that part).

The Shado thing was definitely a rape but Oliver has been depicted as having a problem of with staying faithful to the women he's with (which unfortunately stems from writers wrongfully interpreting Shado's rape as consensual sex). A particularly infamous example is the Judd Winick run where he cheated on Dinah with Joanna Pierce, Black Lightning's niece.
Roy isn't as bad as Oliver most of the time and he's never cheated on his girlfriends. But some of his flirting can border on sexual harassment and there is the New 52 Red Hood and the Outlaws when he sleeps with Kory who was implied to be having amnesia. There's also him calling Donna Troy a whore and saying her son died because she was a bad mother in Rise of Arsenal.

Also, Scott Lobdell is a terrible writer and his characterization of Starfire (and Roy) was abysmal. And The Rise of Arsenal was just...the worst. That's the one with the drug China Cat, right? God.

Warlock is the universes most perfect man
He might be out of Quill’s league but hey Quill’s whole thing is dating outside his league

Last week, Marvel filed the LLC "Warbird Productions II".
Captain Marvel 2 is happening, true believers. I wouldn't be surprised if we hear more at SDCC. *coughcough Rogue and Mystique coughcough*
Yeah. There's no doubt Diana's latest costume is her best yet.
Keeps all the themes of her classic look, manages to be practical and look like something a warrior from an ancient greek society would wear, and even performs the spectacular act of getting her back in a skirt.
They nailed it.
I'm gonna miss the Warbird costume (no lies) but Carol should stick with what she's got right now.
One Strip! One Strip!

That’s honestly not a good look either
An editor really should have stopped this
