Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I have faith in the MCU to do bad ideas somewhat better than the comics, provided it isn’t ninjas
Forever liveblogging the AvengersAnd now something weird, thanks to two posts above me inspiring me:
HULK NINJA VANISH!!
*ninja smoke, which followed by sound of something big jumping far away*
I assure you, I'm perfectly trustable personDaniel Radcliffe denies that he is playing Moon Knight.
He says he's not adverse to doing something in a big franchise again, but has no deals with Marvel and wants to be sure it'd be something he'd love doing for years before signing on.

Fair enough. The guy spent the first ten years of his life involved in one of the biggest movie series of all time. You can't fault him for wanting to ease up on something like that.
One Strip! One Strip!
Never mind, I think I'm wrong.
Please pretend that wasn't there.
Changing the subject: Tom Rothman and Alan Horn comment on how the Spider-Man deal was a win-win-win.

It's the logical progression of MCU Ross since they made him more like General Ryker, wanting to make Gamma Soldiers and all that.
And again, Red Hulk was already good in the comics after his identity was revealed, Jeff Parker took over and wrote him as Ross.
The MCU version will probably skip the Loeb era stuff and forego the mystery angle.

I mean, whenever any character who's had a bad arc or a bad introduction is mentioned, people react like they are still as bad as they were when they showed up.
That's a thing. That being said, almost every time the MCU has touch one of Marvel's lumps of coal, they've found the diamond within. I'm sure they could take the good stuff that came about later for the Red Hulk and make it something worth seeing.
One Strip! One Strip!Of course you did.
Peter would dodge that with his Spider-Sense.
Though nice Mythology Gag there, since May has actually pulled a gun on Peter once.

One Strip! One Strip! Why do we keep doing these "Oh no this character is gonna appear?"
Like they are not gonna adapt the character completely as is that's obvious. Red Hulk being an invincible God Mode Sue is kinda not possible to do here.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I think people just have characters they really really hate.
Like venomously, and just the thought of them existing in something they like in any form pisses them off.
Which is a thing that happens to be fair. Some characters get introduced in really poor ways that just taint your view of them inexorably.
One Strip! One Strip!

I don't know, Kevin doesn't look that horrifying

But yeah, The Doom writer has been writing Adam poorly.
