Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

There's also Hank Pym...who neglected his daughter for most of her life so badly that she helped his former protege steal his company.
Oh, and Carol Danver's father...who was an abusive misogynist who wanted her to Stay in the Kitchen.

Disgusted, but not surprisedThe best part is, he doesn't just win by default, but through actual effort.
Be proud Scott....
...wait. Scott might have some competition from Tony...or did. We don't see everything he did, but we can assume from his relationship with Morgan that he was a pretty good dad.
One Strip! One Strip! And while not in MCU canon per se, the original Hulk movie featured Brian Banner, who was an insane Mad Scientist who wanted his son's powers. And he was a step up from the original comics Brian Banner.
There's also Ego the Living Planet...who, um, murdered all of his children except Peter whom he tried to use as a battery to kill off the rest of the universe. And killed his mother with a brain tumor. And smashed his Walkman.
There's Howard Stark...who was so neglectful of Tony that Tony grew up doubting if his dad ever loved him.

Disgusted, but not surprisedScott really is best dad.
Hard-working & he tries to follow the law for the most part. This is especially seen in Ant-Man 2 as he was completely willing to wait out his house arrest with no tricks & had to get forcibly involved in the Pym families schemes because he expressly told them no the 1st time.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."![]()
See, I thought you were making a reference to Chris Pratt's behavior or something as opposed to Michael Rooker.
They also didn't try to get Scott back with Margaret. It's made clear that Margaret had good reason to divorce him.

Disgusted, but not surprisedIf not, however, Agents of Atlas would be pretty interesting. They have Jimmy Woo in WandaVision and he could show up again in Agents of Atlas (probably slightly more competent this time) and add in some characters from the comics (both from the first team and the newest team, which is made up of Asian characters).

The number of good dads in the MCU can be counted on one hand, and Scott is undeniably within that group.
