Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Then again Hero Mystique was one of the bad parts of the later X-Men movies so it be refreshing to have her go evil again.
Another thought on Chavez actually appearing. She'd also fit because her power-set involves dimension traveling. It's entirely possible that Strange might find himself lost in-between realms and Chavez becomes a guide for him.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."If Rogue is The Dragon to a non-Mystique character, who would fit? I imagine this is where the Kree’s obsession with evolutionary progress comes in.
This.
Boys like having girls present for competitive events. But boys don't like competing with girls. We have it ingrained in us from a young age that girls are weak and delicate and incapable of physical exertion. We use phrases like "you throw like a girl" to say that someone is bad at physical activity. We use insults like "pussy" to say that someone is weak and callow.
So boys take extra special offense at girls running faster or throwing farther or hitting harder than they do. It's one thing to be weaker than another boy. That just means the other boy's stronger than you. But if you're weaker than a girl, then you're weaker than someone who is the super weaker than all boys everywhere, and that's an insult to your manhood right there. Is the logic, anyway, and it extends to activities that have nothing to do with muscle strength too.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub. It’s short for Miss America Chavez
Miss America being one of Marvel’s little used golden age IP
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI mean I get the sexism involved, it's just... like, really? What's even the point of doing that? Dude even took his eyes off the road to do that, could have crashed and gotten seriously injured.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!> I prefer it because as venezuelan, seen a hero named chavez would annoy me over and over and over and over.
Its OK we'll name the hero Hugo

have a listen and have a link to my discord serverGiven her USA iconography I think it's more likely her name's influenced by Cesar Chavez

Better than the spotlight-stealing hero who was only written that way to take advantage of Jennifer Lawrence’s then star power & then got fucking fridged in Dark Phoenix for more Charles & Erik man-pain.
Romijan’s character doesn’t actively detract from the films while Lawrence’s did.
Plus Romijan can actually put on the make-up.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."

I have no particular interest in seeing Mystique against Marvel (I'd rather see her against the Supreme Intelligence, Super-Krull, Moondragon and Moonstone, you know, the cosmic foes) but I could see Rogue coming around as The Dragon to another villain. Would be fun.
