Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Pretty sure Marvel isn't allowed to do anything with Iron Fist for two years as part of the arrangement with Netflix, so—
...
That was in 2018.
Shang-Chi is coming out in 2021.
Which is more than two years. Because that's how time works.
...
Huh, never mind. Still think it's just a rumor, though.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Yeah. Nobody whites WANTS the previous Danny back.
I mean, people wanted a POC Danny or at least an asian one well before seasons 1 of Iron Fist shit the bed, but still.
He shit the bed so hard, even he recognized it and gave the power to someone who sucked less.
Yikes. I admit as typos go, that one is pretty bad. I'm not even sure how autocorrect did that.

One Strip! One Strip!Yeah, there's no way that Iron Fist is in Shang-Chi. I mean, perhaps as a cameo, maybe, but not as an actual character.
I don't want them to recast anyone from the Netflix shows, not even Finn Jones. He was good with the material they gave him and when they gave him better material (like in Luke Cage Season 2 or Iron Fist Season 2), he was better at it. And I absolutely loved the ending to Iron Fist Season 2 — anyone who dislike the first season has to see the second and see just how well they fixed the show.
No, what I want to see is a return of the characters, but in different ways.
- Danny and Luke decide to team-up and form Heroes for Hire. I know Mike Colter is currently doing EVIL (which is great), so make it, like, a six-episode mini-series or something.
- Misty and Colleen team-up and form Daughters of the Dragon, which would be even more awesome.
- And then give us another season (or half-season, since I think that would be better) of Daredevil with Jessica Jones added to the cast. Krysten Ritter and Charlie Cox had surprisingly great chemistry in Defenders and giving them more screen time together would be great.

I like Danny Chase as a concept
He’s a good contrast to the young adult Titans and he has room to grow
Forever liveblogging the AvengersBeing introduced to a culture he isn't a part of does not mean Danny cannot be East Asian. Anyone that isn't born in K'un L'un would be a stranger there. It's Asgard but with an Asian aesthetic instead of a European one.
Why not? There isn't anything inherently offensive about him unlike Rand.
True.
Chase was done very poorly but as Bocaj said, the concept had great potential.
Though outside of Netflix, I'm pretty sure that Danny is well liked as a character even if he's a Mighty Whitey stereotype.
The two Dannys are kinda opposites in that regard.
One Strip! One Strip!I would have liked Daredevil to be a mentor for Spiderman, but that won't happen.
Even if it happened, it would be with another actor and ignoring all the events of the series.
Daredevil is like the only bigger trash fire than Tony Stark. That would have been perfect.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI haven't seen the Punisher series and don't want 'murder is cool actually' Frank anywhere near Peter.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersDaredevil is a trash fire because he is a hero, but he's ultimately pretty terrible at it and it ruins all of his relationships. Tony is similar.
The Punisher is a trash fire because he thinks murder is cool and writers keep forgetting that's a bad thing.
Writing a post-post apocalypse LitRPG on RR. Also fanfic stuff.

Would it be a reboot into an actual Asian or Asian-American?
Edit: Oh, hai pagetopper.

Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.
