Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I can think of a few roles she could be playing, including Tyger Tiger, Diamondback, or, hell, maybe even Songbird, if they really want to seed in characters for Thunderbolts.
Oh, so that's what ScarJo's going to be doing now that her character's been axed!

Given that the She-Hulk series is slated to be released before Ms. Marvel, that would of been a reasonable assumption.
This could indicate that they want Ms. Marvel to appear in a film before her own series, even if it's in a minor role. Given the character's backstory, it makes plenty of sense that she was personally present during some superheroics prior to gaining powers.
Kevin Feige just stated that there will be a trans character in a movie filming right now.
I'm going to guess that movie is The Eternals, since that seems to be a more experimental film and was the movie Feige also said would have a gay main character. There are some Eternals who have been genderflipped from their comic versions and it would be interesting if one of them was trans (although probably better if they were played by a trans actor).
Will they be played by a trans actor?
There is small precedent with Spider-Man Homecoming and Jessica Jones Season 3 featuring minor trans characters played by trans actors, which is nice, but I'd like to see a leap taken on an important character.

Spider-Man 3 (Further From Home? Homehunted?) is filming this summer.
Only downside is that this means Travis Knight won't be directing the Uncharted movie anymore...

Spider-Man: Homewrecker
After the film's release, Sony will take their ball and go home. Disney will disavow Spider-Man as a part of the MCU, while Sony will claim that the old Spidey films are still totes in continuity. Tom Holland will star in the first film of the new Sony-produced trilogy, "Spider-Man Episode IV: A New Home".

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I am pretty sure that I heard Thanos is one in the comics. So they are at his normal power level.

Eternals are a subrace of humans who are the result of the Celestials' experiments on early humanity. The experiments gave them ageless immortality and the ability to channel cosmic energy, making them very powerful. The tradeoff is that they need to vent heat and thus don't do well at all in warm environments.
The same experiments also created the Deviants, a subrace of humans who have Body Horror. And the rest of humanity was also affected — all "baseline" humans have the potential to develop superpowers via certain "triggers". Mutants for example hit puberty as their "trigger" (most of the time — some manifest at birth).
Thanos is a Titanian Eternal, Eternals who left Earth long ago to settle on Titan. Overall they tend to be weaker than their Earth kin. Thanos is the exception. He's an Eternal who has a mutation that makes him look like a Deviant (hence the purple skin and stuff). It also made him a lot stronger than the average Titanian Eternal and on par with Earth Eternals.
That's right — Earth Eternals are all about as powerful as Thanos.
Of course, this is all from the comics. Who knows what is the deal with MCU Eternals.
Another interesting tidbit from the comics is that the Skrulls' ancestors were also experimented on by Celestials. The Skrull Eternals got the same powers, the baseline ones were normal, and the Deviants got shapeshifting. A race war started at some point in their history, and the Deviants won out. As a result, all present day Skrulls are Deviants.
