Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I kinda operated under the assumption that Infinity War took place in like December 2017, while Endgame started in January 2018. These timelines are not the most consistent.

Self-serious autistic trans gal who loves rock/metal and animation with all her heart. (she/her)So what I'm hearing is that the Soul Gem's job is to be the Last Lousy Point. It doesn't really do much of anything but you'll never have 100% completion if you don't go through the arbitrary and stupid task of grinding for it.
Also, as the Red Skull was dismayed to discover, it is Permanently Missable Content.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.HAH
Think about if it was in a game though and players went through all the effort of maxing out a relationship bar to kill a companion just to get it and see that 100% on the save file

Forever liveblogging the AvengersThis might seem like a "well, duh" piece, but Ryan Reynolds confirmed that yes, Deadpool 3 will be made with Marvel Studios.
Hey question, what Phase 4 entry are you guys most excited for? For me it's What if?.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI'm not, honestly?
Like, don't get me wrong. I'm planning on seeing all the things as they come out. I haven't sworn off the MCU forever or declared that the MCU and I shall be bitter nemeses or sold my soul to DC Comics or something.
But Infinity War/Endgame kinda killed the hype train for me. The days of edge-of-my-seat anticipation for MCU movies are over. There are a lot of movies coming down the pipe and they look pretty neat, but I figure I'll see 'em when I see 'em, y'know?
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Same. Consider it fatigue with Disney as a whole, but I don't really feel like getting invested in new characters from the MCU at this point. Eternals seems like the most interesting of the lot, but I'll probably only consider the ones that continue with the stories of my favorite Phase 1-3 characters, like Thor 4 and Falcon and Winter Soldier.
Gotta be honest, I haven't even seen Infinity War or Endgame yet. I'll probably see them at some point but atm the only Marvel film in the near future i'm probably going to make an effort to see is BP 2.
Someone earlier asked who do we think should play Abigail Brand of SWORD — and today, I totally realized it should be Rachel Brosnahan.

I partially agree with Tobias and Alley Oop, though it's mainly Disney I'm burnt on. Stuff like Eternals, Shang-Chi and Love and Thunder in and of itself I think has a lot of potential to be awesome, and Falcon/Winter Soldier and Wanda Vision also bode well in my eyes. I'll think it over.
Self-serious autistic trans gal who loves rock/metal and animation with all her heart. (she/her)Yeah, we're only getting two MCU films next year, so we are slowing down a bit on the theatrical front. Which sounds weird when I say a franchise releasing two films a year instead of three is "slowing down", but it's true. We haven't seen a release schedule like that since 2016 (which feels like forever ago).
Even on the show front, all we're gonna have is Falcon and the Winter Soldier and the final season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for 2020. It's going to be a pretty low-key year for the MCU.
But of course, 2021 is currently set to have four films and four new shows debut on Disney+. So, 2020 is going to look pretty restrained by comparison.
Marvel-related:
Tom Holland is in talks to cameo as Spider-Man in Venom 2.
I guess this could confirm if Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters really IS its own thing or just set in the MCU like Sony has wanted from the start.
If we squint hard enough, there might be some connective tissue if Venom 1 is retconned to taking place during Endgame's five year time skip and Venom 2 takes place after Far From Home, which found Peter on the lam no thanks to Mysterio.
But it's Sony, so I'm not holding my breath...

Retroactively setting Venom during the five year time skip would actually work pretty well now that you mention it.
One Strip! One Strip!

One question, would tchalla suit even able to contain the raw power of the gaunlet if he decide to use it?.
