Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Broadly, that's true. I was speaking specifically of the period between her first movie and her appearance in Endgame, assuming her second film is set then. It's going to be tricky if they want her to do anything on Earth.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I'm not married to any particular plot or setting. I'm ready for Phase 4 to introduce some cool new stuff and not get too hung up on Phase 1-3. Marvel needs to... not reboot, exactly... but get some fresh continuity going.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I just found out General Ross will be in the new Black Widow movie, and now I think It'd be funny if they have scenes together, Natasha mentions that her and Banner are kind of a thing, and Ross is just like "Are you freaking kidding me?!"

Like creepy stories? Check out my book!Reminds me of when the cast appeared on Jimmy Kimmel, and they did some Family Feud thing, and the topic was "worst times to become the Hulk", and I think it was Chris Evens who mentioned during sex (I think he used a more delicate phrasing) and Mark Ruffalo exclaimed "That's the best time!"
Like creepy stories? Check out my book! There was an episode of Cracked: After Hours that brought up how many Avengers f*ck versus how many of them probably don't f*ck.
"Hulk never smash?!"
That was years ago, though, so some of the dynamics have changed since then. Thor: Ragnarok, for instance, finally allowed Hulk to smash.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Hulk never smash as Hulk, certainly. Banner himself is absolutely not going to smash as Banner, since the excitement might bring out the "big guy".
In response to your edit, are you suggesting Hulk x Valkyrie? Because that would be fascinating to watch... for purely academic reasons, of course.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Ragnarok seemed to imply that Hulk and Valkyrie were smashing before Thor arrived.
At least, I thought it did.

The scene with Valkyrie firing a big cannon and all
Forever liveblogging the AvengersRagnarok clearly establishes that they are friends, but Valkyrie seems to have no interest in doing it with anybody. The film is quite sexless.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"There was a deleted scene of
Valkyrie exiting a fling with a woman on Sakaar.
Wouldn't call Ragnarok sexless when it had an orgy ship owned by the Grandmaster.
The Eternal’s Kumail Nanjiani shows off his body which has quite the Heroic Build.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."So, my brother was watching Civil War on his phone while making sandwiches. I was able to tell he was watching it because of the accent of the King of Wakanda as he was making his speech.
I lead a rich life.
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.

Her jurisdiction is so absurdly vast that she can't be expected to address every crises that pops up anymore then a hero like Spider-Man could be expected to address every crises that transpires on Earth. She's also likely to deprioritize places that have their own proven defenses in place...like Earth.
So the answer to the question of "why Captain Marvel doesn't show up" is always going to be some variation of "She's dealing with an unrelated problem really far away".
