Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Now they need to get rid of the current animated shows, buy the rights to Spectacular Spiderman from Sony, make an Xmen show that combines the 90's series and Xmen Evolution from around the end of season 2-beginning of season three, restart Earth's Mightiest heroes and finally create that Marvel Animated Universe we all deserve.
....none of which probably has anything to do with the above link, but I'm gonna keep dreaming dammit!

It actually does include the animated shows, sort of. From what I can gather, Marvel's Spider-Man and Big Hero 6: The Series are the only Marvel cartoons being renewed for another season. The Hulu shows are still being produced separately from Marvel Studios, but Avengers Assemble and Guardians of the Galaxy (2015) are not going to be renewed for another season.

The only shows that were cancelled were Cloak and Dagger and Runaways, which is sad, because they were also the two teen-oriented shows and I think they would have made a perfect fit for Disney+ and Hulu. Ghost Rider was sort of cancelled, but I think that was, again, more for creative differences (or monetary reasons) than anything else (or else they would have also stopped Helstrom).
But it makes sense for them to fold in Marvel TV to Marvel Studios, considering Feige is going to be in charge of everything.

About that hypothetical X-Men show that combines the 90's show and Evolution, I'd like some ideas from Wolverine and the X-Men as well (such as Nightcrawler with dual cutlasses or Emma Frost as a character, little stuff like that).
The legend has returned. You know, not to make light out of a tragedy, but I'm thinking about how much more profitable sites like Ancestry must have been post-Snap.
I missed the opening bits of Endgame and I wonder how much of the post-Snap society we really got to see. All I recall was Scott running around a torn-up neighborhood, Hulk taking a selfie, and Stark living out in the woods. Also Steve being at support groups and Carol being away from the plot.
But see this is where a show like Powerless would have come in handy. Show us the post-Snap world. I could see it now.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!
I think I recall reading a rumor that Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will be set during the five year gap that occurred in Endgame.
If that doesn't say "want to know how was Earth hanging on after half of it got turned to dust by a purple jerkass? Here you go!" then I don't know what is.

It sucked. When the people behind it got to do the Harley Quinn cartoon they were practically begging not to be judged by it (and well, Network TV sitcom rules can be limiting to say the least).
My guess is they didn’t want characters to be shuffled off to a B-list tier. That and with the Disney+ shows affecting the movies, they need all hands on deck for that. Let’s face it, the service will need something to entice subscribers once Mandalorian’s season ends.

(4) Ah. I didn't know about that. That'll be an interesting one.
(3) I only saw the first episode. It was a dorky comedy. It changed from it's original premise
and apparently wasn't popular enough to demand a second season.
Agents Of Shield took the idea of "here's what a superhero story would look like if you focused on all of the middle-men and women in the background" and pulled it off better.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!You know what? Why not? WATXM wasn't a perfect show, but it had some pretty good moments when it didn't focus on Wolverine....which is admittedly ironic.
Anyway, as I continue to live in the dark past of the mid 90's to mid 2000's, lets all hope things work out with all the new Marvel shows....and that Daredevil comes back.
One Strip! One Strip!I have a guilty pleasure spot for the made for tv Hulk movies. Though the tv show was legitimately good IMO, the movies were just silly fun. Though I still mostly remember Returns as the one with the dad from Good Luck Charlie, Trial as the one with the dwarf from Lord of the Rings, and Death as the one with G’Kar from Babylon 5.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadThis one's a long shot, but, what if Black Widow (2020) got an "R" rating?

I wanted to make an Ant Man joke but somebody used Pym Particles and beat me to it.
