Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Huh. I got a lot of "cool" from this teaser and not a lot of "story". I guess that'll have to wait for the next one.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"There was a Captain Canuck, but it had nothing to do with Marvel

That, presumably, is why this is considered a teaser rather than a full trailer. We don't even know exactly when this is taking place, other than "before Endgame."
x4 I believe we also know it's taking place after Civil War. And I think we can pretty reasonably narrow the window to "after Civil War, but before she joined Captain America's team".
But that's just for where the events of the main plot take place in the timeline. There could be a modern framing device and/or soul gem shenanigans involved. Plus some additional flashbacks to Natasha's origin story (her training in the Red Room, work for the KGB, and ultimately her defection to SHIELD).

Someone found an Easter egg
in the Black Widow trailer that points towards a certain Russian someone...
Apparently there's what appears to be a baby bear. Can you say Ursa Major
? What's more, Ursa Major is said to be a human mutant, so yay mutant representation in the MCU?

Whoa: Marvel fired the showrunner and entire writing staff
for Tigra & Dazzler, one of their new cartoons for Hulu. It was cited as "creative differences," but that's kind of harsh.
The showrunner was Erica Rivinoja, who was a writer/producer on South Park. It looks like Chelsea Handler may still be producing the show, but I have no idea who they are going to get to showrun and write it.
Plus even if they DID use Ursa Major there's no reason to believe they have to keep the mutant background. Just make up some typical pseudo-science military experiment baloney and hey presto.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."I don't know. It's possible that it just wasn't funny — after all, the description of the show calls them "woke superheroes," so maybe they were trying to be topical and failed?
I mean, I would kind of prefer a version of the show that's like Broad City, but with superheroes. I think that would be neat.
I don't know if it's been brought up here or not, but animator Robert Hughes noticed The Incredible Hulk is absent from Disney Plus.
...it always bugged me how there was an America super soldier project but seemingly no other ones, or successful ones at least. I'm glad this character exists.
Like. That serum could not have been that impossible to reproduce. Some 40-50 years later a bunch of people get bitten by a radioactive spider, a scientist gets hit with just the right amount of nuclear radiation to become the Hulk, and four people go into outer space and get hit with cosmic rays that give them super powers. an ex-con ends up getting tested on and coming out with bulletproof skin.
Heck, a cancer treatment created Deadpool. And the best SHIELD HYDRA can come up with is Project Centipede.
