Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

And to think Vision & Ultron's family situation is even weirder in the comics.
Here's a family tree. Ultron is a Pym son of Hank & Janet. Vision & Victor Mancha are brothers due to being Ultron's creation & ergo Hank & Janet's grandsons. Victor is a Runaway while Vision married Scarlet Witch who is sister of Quicksilver, Polaris, & the daughter of Magneto.
Quicksilver married Crystal of the Inhuman royal family & had a child with her which makes Black Bolt an in-law to Hank, Ultron, & Magneto.
And then Cyclops/Scott Summers is like a surrogate son to Magneto especially because his actual son is a constant disappointment & embarrassment. Meaning we can add in the Summers family to the tree which includes Scott's brothers once of which is a genocidal space warlord & his space pirate father & the Grey family which includes Jean Grey, Cable, & Hope.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Oh right I forgot Vision's family whose wife was produced from Wanda's brainwaves.
Also Vision was produced by Wonder Man's brainwaves.
And I don't even know how to explain Jocasta especially since I think Hank may have dated her once.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."It was Unstoppable Wasp #7 (2018).
"Nadia, you are related to Tommy Shepherd and William Kaplan via- ERROR!
"
She also assures Nadia it's a good thing she's not related to Hercules and his even more convoluted family tree.

Okay, so in the comics, Hank Pym built Ultron who built the Vision, whose brain waves were based on Wonder Man, who has a brother named the Grim Reaper. The Vision then marries Scarlet Witch and has two children, but they turn out to actually be part of the soul of Mephisto and then get reincarnated into Wiccan and Speed, making them the quasi-children of the Vision and the Scarlet Witch. Then a Skrull who impersonated Hank has a son with Tigra and since Skrull Hank technically had Hank's DNA, he's considered Hank's son just for simplicity's sake. Then the Vision built a wife, Virginia, using Scarlet Witch's brain patterns and then they combined their brain patterns for their children Vin and Viv. Meanwhile, it was revealed that Hank actually had a daughter, Nadia, with his first wife, whom everyone thought died, but was actually held captive until Nadia was born. Also, in an alternate universe, Hank and Janet had two kids, Hank Jr (Big Man) and Hope (the Red Queen). Oh and Janet also had a daughter with Havoc in timeline that was erased, but I think everyone forgot about her. Oh and Ultron built Victor Mancha, making him like Vision's brother and Viv's uncle. Ultron also built Jocasta, Alkhema, and Antigone, all of whom rebelled against him.
Everyone clear now?

Vision can put relationship status “it’s complicated” on every relationship he has
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI just watched it. Ultron abducted and brainwashed Helen Cho to use her biotech with adamantium to create a bio-cybernetic body but the Avengers caught up to ‘em before it could be finished. Stark and Banner then absconded with the half-finished body and tried to merge it with what was left of Jarvis. They were interrupted by Steve Rogers and the Maximoffs though but before they could intervene in the second crazy experiment from Stark and Banner in as many days Thor crashed the party and lightninged the pod to finish the job. Thus, Vision was born. With the Soul Stone. I didn’t catch where he got that from because I wasn’t paying that much attention. It’s Age of Ultron, it doesn’t exactly keep you engage.
Happy days are here again though because now I’m on Ant-Man. Awwwww yeeeeah.
“If you have a message for the devil give it to me and I’ll take it to him.”One moment it call my atention is how bruce lock wanda and tell something of "come on, enter my mind to see how angry im" or something like that, which it really showcase how pissed bruce is a wanda by messing with his head.
In fact, is why I often bring wanda action because the movie really point that out without understanding why.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"... I do wonder what Banner's opinion of Wanda is now. When Banner noped away from Earth, it was just after she switched sides and I don't think they ever interacted during the battle with Ultron. When he returned to Earth, they again never really interacted and she died soon after.
I don't think they've had a single conversation since that time Banner told her he wanted to throttle her without turning a hint of green. So... awkward, I guess.
It's kind of funny, though, but Banner is the only founding Avenger who is both alive and not retired/doing soul searching. He's kind of the Big Good of the Avengers right now, whatever Fury's doing in space nonwithstanding.

If we go by the logic that the creator is essentially an android's parent, that makes Vision Ultron's son and brother, since Ultron and Tony both did the work on him. Then again, you could also include Bruce and maybe Thor if you go by that logic.
Father's Day must be hectic for Vision.
As a side note, I was looking at some quotes from AOU again, and it's mentioned at one point that the Avengers can't destroy the cradle with Vision because the Mind Stone could overload and take out the entire city. I know that's not brought up again in Infinity War and the damage wasn't extensive as they predicted, but I guess that's another justification for why they didn't just kill Vision to destroy the Mind Stone.
