Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

God Ragnarok cannot come soon enough. I think it might be my favorite of the franchise.
Also was that actual footage from Incredible Hulk that Coulson just gave to Stark?
Yep, it was. Edward Norton got The Other Darrin treatment and contractual licensing shenanigans prevent the MCU from making any further Hulk-centric films, but the events of Incredible Hulk are still canon to the MCU all the same.
I believe Bruce also has a line in the same film about "breaking Harlem", which is also a reference to Incredible Hulk.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub. Then the Infinity Stones are also lies, Bocaj. All I can conclude is that everything is lies! Everything is lies!
What's the point of Infinity Stones if you can't do Infinity Things!?

Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Yes, I just saw it. There is indeed a reference to “breaking Harlem”. I assume that’s where the fight with Abomination/Blonsky took place. It’s been a reeeeeally long time since I last watched Incredible Hulk.
Also, this was mind blowing to me, may not be for you guys, but that quote I posted above got me thinking.
It really shows Stark’s growth as a character when, at the end of Endgame, Tony DOESN’T look for a way out. He straight up sacrifices himself. But what’s really neat about that is that this is why Stephen Strange couldn’t tell him about that conclusion. He knew that if he did Tony “Always a way out” Stark would try to find an alternative. The only way those events would take place as seen was if Stark came to the needed conclusion on his own. Through growth as a person. Well done, writers!
“If you have a message for the devil give it to me and I’ll take it to him.”Someone I know pointed out that another thing about Endgame is that it once again refutes both Cap and Tony's previous claims again about everything important about you coming from a bottle and not being the one to make the sacrifice play respectively. Steve being worthy of Mjolnir has nothing to do with the Super Soldier formula, and Tony again shows that when push comes to shove, he will jump on the land mine for the good of everyone. Sure, they both proved the other wrong back in the Avengers (well, Steve did that well before then), but this kinda reinforces it once again.

You can do infinity things with the infinity stones if you have infinity resistance to your skin being burned off your bones.
So, like. Wolverine.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersIn all seriousness, even Logan and Laura's Healing Factor has its limits even at their prime. In the comics for example Laura nearly died after taking a full blast from Nimrod, a Sentinel from the future. And keep in mind that Laura's Healing Factor is better than Logan's since she has less adamantium in her body poisoning her constantly.

Disgusted, but not surprisedAs I recall, Logan's Healing Factor went into overdrive when he lost his Adamantium.
And it remained pretty strong well after he got it back, which is part of the reason he seems to be damn well unkillable now. I suppose after having the admantium in his body for years, losing it and jumpstarting his healing and then getting it back, his body was used to it and didn't need to strain itself quite as much.

Keep in mind that Hulk's Healing Factor is even better than Logan's in the comics. In fact, he heals so rapidly that it's almost impossible to tell he's even getting hurt in the first place — he heals most injuries up as soon as they are inflicted.
So if someone with a stronger Healing Factor and has a tremendous resistance to gamma radiation is still badly damaged by using the Infinity Gauntlet...

Disgusted, but not surprisedMost people wouldn't blame you.
There's a small list of people who don't hate the Dark World.
I'm on that list.
One Strip! One Strip!Yeah every Marvel movie has something built upon in a succeeding product.
Dark World for example has Frig's mothering of her two sons.
Incredible Hulk though has nothing carried over in succeeding films aside from Ross' actor & even then he never interacted with Bruce when he came back.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."

Why do we drive on the parkway and park in the driveway? Why does a nose run and feet smell?
Love coming across quotes like this. They mean so much more post-Endgame.
Tony Stark: I think I would just cut the wire.
Steve Rogers: Always a way out...
