Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

He now oversees most of Marvel, including comics and TV.
Yes, the movies can now reference the shows.
Well, holy shit. Good on him. He deserves it.
That honestly makes me kinda want to get back into reading the comics.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.You lost me at "Jonathan Hickman". His run on Avengers was part of the reason I got out of reading the comics.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.HOX/POX is, I think, much better than Hickman's Avengers run. For one thing, it's seeped in X-Men history, tells a nearly complete story, and is filled with awesome moments. It also manages to reinvent a female character that was previously dead and make her the most important character in Marvel history: Moira MacTaggert.
That can be either a good thing or a bad thing. Continuity-heavy stories that demand you know what happened in Issue 157, page 6, panel 5 of X-Ultimatez: The X-Treme from 1976 are the most common causes of Continuity Lock-Out. I don't want my entertainment to assign me homework.
On the other hand, accessible stories that pay respect to the history of the franchise but make the effort to bring new audiences up to speed can be some of the best storytelling in a long-runner.
Continuity for continuity's sake just to make continuity nerds drool: bad.
Continuity for the sake of enriching the plot: good.
I like that sound of that!
I also like the sound of that, though it's not as important as the complete story. I generally prefer emphasis on story over emphasis on "moments". It's part of the reason I don't like Infinity War and Endgame.
I have mixed feelings on that just because going too hyperbolic is part of what drove me away from Hickman. He's never content to just write cool stories. He wants his stories to be THE MOST ULTIMATEST ULTIMATE THING THAT EVER ULTIMATED IN THE MARVEL UNIVERSE.
He writes with the clear intent that his work must become required reading for all future Marvel comics forever. He's not trying to tell interesting tales, he's trying to remake the very foundations of the Marvel Universe in his image. He's the epitome of the lore-driven writer, pushed to its very extreme.
Ooo, yes. If there is one character I regret dropping out of comics before she really became a thing, it's Riri Williams. I've always loved the idea of Riri, but have never had the chance to actually read her comics.

For what I know, Ike just want the inhuman, he didnt expect to be.....THIS.
"Nick Fury, however, has already appeared twice in Agents of SHIELD, so...you know, there's your confirmation.
"
He could be a Skrull...
I will said the most "are really this two show conected" was Hive plan of turing the world full of act make up mutants and nobody but Shield being able to stop it, this around more or less the same time of civil war.
In fact, I wonder what SHIELD team have to said of what happen in CW.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"
In the comic the skrull being asshole is because the kree so they are bigger assholes.
And I guess is to give Cap Marvel and heroic movitation, maybe because it seen fantastic four is still far away to see the day so is not a problem for them.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"It’s probably because the current status quo for the Skrulls was a refugee people due to their planets being destroyed by Galactus or infighting or a bigger empire
Forever liveblogging the Avengers
