Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

So Ross being a hypocrite does matter, because he's not simply someone having a debate; he's part of the issue being debated.
Ross isn't debating anything. The debate already took place in the United Nations. Nothing the Avengers have to say on the matter will actually influence the Accords.
The decision at this point has already been made. Ross is delivering the message.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.
That's true.
Again I ask, why is HE delivering the message after what he did?
At this point, I won't debate that there's a point, just why someone who's as much of an argument for that point (even worse arguably) is being allowed to say anything. Hell, he should be in prison himself for the shit he pulled.
One Strip! One Strip! He gives orders to Rhodey in Infinity War so maybe he was in a position of authority via the accords
Forever liveblogging the AvengersBack when Spidey was a part of the MCU, I thought it would be neat to have Norman Osborn become the President of the United States and use him to commentate on the current political climate. It could also be a nod to the Dark Reign story arc, and Norman could be the one to put together the Thunderbolts like in the comics.
> Apple ... may merge with Sony, which could mean Spidey coming back to the MCU.

What I'd give for the universe to stop making me think about Spider-Man...
Then you haven’t met Todd Ziller, the man who turns into American Kaiju
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThis time, it's for real. And I know I've said it before, but this time it's for real!
Today, I'm going to watch... Captain America: The Winterfresh Soldier!note
Wish me luck!
"Scooby Dooby Doo!"Oooh, now you're in for a real treat. Some of the best action in the franchise. This and Guardians 1 are also a really great back-to-back, even though they're strikingly different in tone and such.

Self-serious autistic trans gal who loves rock/metal and animation with all her heart. (she/her)Winter Soldier is the film that finally disproved the Spider-Man 3 rhetoric. For years, putting three or more villains in your movie was considered a death sentence. Too many plot threads, not enough time, everything just comes out as rushed and jumbled. A movie with too many villains CANNOT function.
Winter Soldier asked, "Okay, but what if you didn't have a unique plot thread for each villain? What if you had one plot thread, and then each villain just services that one story?"
Winter Soldier looked at the "3 Villains Bad" rhetoric and said, "Hold my beer." It had five f*cking villains in it, and through its plan of making them all service a single narrative thread, it actually pulled them off. This movie was a turning point in how we think about adaptational storytelling in film.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I was waiting to ask this. So who’s your favorite villain in the MCU besides the usual suspects (Thanos and Loki)?
For me, the answer is Armin Zola. He’s a nebbish dweeb in the first movie that turns into a chessmaster in the second, and it doesn’t feel like an ass pull at all.
The legend has returned.Vulture and Killmonger are pretty great villains who deserve the acclaim they've gotten, but they're obvious and already been dissected and discussed like mad. Soooo lessee, what else is there...ah, right, I was really impressed with Kilgrave, Mariah Dillard/Stokes, Bushmaster and Shades.
Self-serious autistic trans gal who loves rock/metal and animation with all her heart. (she/her)I liked Ghost. She had powers that counteracted the heroes without being a direct copy and remained both sympathetic and a threat at once. Admittedly more of an antagonist than a villain per se but I found her a good reason the sequel was such an improvement.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."I'd like her to still be hanging around in a hypothetical 3 movie.
Her and Bill Foster. Even if just to sit in the background like a Greek chorus and tell Hank he sucks.
Forever liveblogging the Avengers...so I just realized, that without Ultron on his head....MCU Hank is a worst person than main 616 Hank.
Irony huh?
One Strip! One Strip!
