Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Online and film fame rarely overlaps. There was an interesting discussion with Freddie Wong and Corridor Digital talking about this between web film and theatrical film. While Rocket Jump and Corridor Digital might be some of the biggest names in online VFX shorts and have done successful series with Hulu and Crunchyroll, that basically amounts to nothing to film studios.
I recall this was part of the reason why the Halo movie failed to get off the ground in 2005, as Microsoft was used to being a heavyweight in the computer and video games arena, but film studios just saw some tech company barging in with absurd demands.

And a decade later, a Showtime series gets greenlit. Honestly, that just goes to show how change works.

See, that you’re famous for doing something, and get paid for it accordingly, that I would be cool with. Not to mention writers are easier to be since you just blend into the background, unlike say, actors.

Marvel won big at 45th Annual Saturn Awards!
- Best Comic-to-Film Motion Picture: Avengers: Endgame (Infinity War was also nominated in this category, but I guess Endgame won out for not being nearly as depressing. And also that climax.)
- Best Actor: Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame
- Best Supporting Actor: Josh Brolin as Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War
- Best Supporting Actress: Zendaya as MJ in Spider-Man: Far From Home
- Best Performance by a Younger Actor: Tom Holland as Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Far From Home
- Best Production Design: Charles Wood for Avengers: Endgame
- Best Editing: Jeffrey Ford and Matthew Schmidt for Avengers: Endgame
- Best Make-Up: John Blake and Brian Sipe for Avengers: Endgame
- Best Special Effects: Avengers: Endgame
- Best Streaming Superhero Series: Daredevil, season 3
In total, that's 6 wins for Endgame, 2 for Far From Home and 1 for Infinity War and Daredevil.

Who saves the day? The Super Hero Squad! Season 1 intro:
That's a show that I immensely enjoyed! Very funny, but also filled with enjoyable Mythology Gags and Shout-Outs, that I liked!
BONUS: Live-action version:
So it dawns on me that there's an easy way to solve the how will Jane become Thor issue:
It's basically identical to Mjolnir, and they even went in that direction in completely inferior Avengers Assemble animated series. I actually saw the episode where she became Thor too, but I didn't know they went in the Thunderstrike direction.
Kinda makes you wonder why they didn't do that in the comics, but I suppose they just had their own ideas and made her Valkyrie instead.
So there you go. And Etiri is still alive too (or unsnapped, though since he's the only one of his kind it probably skipped him) so we got someone to make it.
One Strip! One Strip!@slimcoder: If I ever become a published writer I'll go the Reclusive Artist route and never show my face around.
@Jo Lu Ro: But you can have all of that without having to turn yourself into a public personality.
Well, except "everyone wants to talk to you" part, perhaps, but I personally consider that a double-edged sword.

While they could go that route, I think the best way would just be to reforge Mjolnir itself.
In all likelihood the fragments are in the possession of New Asgard. However Thor likely lacked the motivation to find a way to have the hammer reforged given that spent the 5 years of the snap playing Fortnight and had Stormbreaker anyways.
Curious question: Is Marvel planning on using Whizzer in any upcoming projects? Or did they already, and i'm just not aware?
Like creepy stories? Check out my book!Deadline: Apparently Endgame won't be the last time we'll see Tony. Allegedly, that honor will go to Black Widow next year.
(ICYMI, Black Widow is set after Civil War, but before Infinity War.)

Of course, Endgame will still be the last in in-universe time.
Join the Five-Man Band cleanup project!Hailee Steinfeld, a.k.a. the soon to be Kate Bishop, was nominated by the Saturn Awards for Bumblebee... as Best Supporting Actress, in a movie starring her.
The same thing happened when she was nominated for the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress of True Grit even though, again, she's the protagonist.
I mean Hopkins got best actor for a movie had no more than 15 minutes in, so they’be been playing loose with what’s supporting and what isn’t for a while now.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyOnce in the comics it turned out Janet Van Wasp’s chauffeur was a supervillain
Forever liveblogging the Avengers

I’d just want to be writer-level famous.
Like Grant Morrison or even a little Mark Miller without being a prick that writes terrible edgelord comics.
