Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I will soon reach it.
But for now, until next week, I'm taking a break from watching the films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I need to focus on other things (hint: jetpacks) and to rest a bit.
"Scooby Dooby Doo!"The most interesting thing about Gwenpool imo is the Reality Ensues twist on the “kid who enters a fictional world” concept, in regards to her personality: since she perceives everyone around her as characters and knows the plot is just a work of fiction, she’s casually dismissive of the world and it’s people as consequence-less and disposable in the way a fan would and comes off as a complete sociopath.
Rumors are circulating that She-Hulk has been narrowed down to two potential choices
, Rosario Dawson or Ronda Rousey.
I’m personally rooting for Dawson on this one.
Marvel has a proven track record of always picking the right actors, so I'll trust whoever they pick, but I am personally rooting for Ronda this time.
A wrestler like her feels like such a perfect choice for the epitome of Amazonian Beauty that is She-Hulk.
That said, I'd hate for talent of Ms. Dawson's level to stick to just the Netflix series, so if Ronda were to be picked, is there any member of Jennifer's supporting cast she could play?
"she reposted a controversial video from the You Tube channel Think Outside The TV, which highlighted a conspiracy theory about the shooting. In the post, Rousey called it an "extremely interesting, and must-watch" video."
I Do.Not.Want her to be She Hulk

have a listen and have a link to my discord serverEven disregarding her weird conspiracy bullshit, Ronda tends to play as super serious badass women, which She-Hulk doesn't fit into at all. She's probably the goofiest hero that isn't Deadpool, Squirrel Girl, Howard the Duck, or the more absurd Guardians of the Galaxy.

The legend has returned.Ronda is not a great speaker. Apparently she has a legitimate speech disorder and I’m not going to knock anyone for something outside their control, but anyone who’s seen her promos in WWE knows she’s not the greatest at delivering dialogue.
Also, Laverne Cox? I like her in OITNB but no. She is completely wrong for Jen Walters. And to quote Dan Slott, you’re casting for Jen Walters, like how Mark Ruffalo was being cast for Bruce Banner. CG can handle the rest. Jen and her reactions to gaining this power, becoming this big green example of power and femininity, is the key.
But differently from the Hulk, you can show the She-Hulk without C Gi.
Make-up goes a long way, just look at Gamora.
Hence why, I think, most people imagine someone really buff for the role.
Again, though, there hasn't really been any miscast in the MCU thus far, so whoever they pick I'll roll with it.
Count me in for Rosario Dawson. Peter David, one of the key writers for She-Hulk comics, made a point a while back about this. He said, paraphrasing, "DO NOT try to cast She-Hulk. Cast someone to play Jennifer Walters, and then make her She-Hulk."
Ronda Rousey is a prime example of what he was warning against. She's a big beefy wrestler who you could totally see as a titanic Hulk, but whose verbal deliveries are stale and lifeless. Not a great casting for a character who spends 90% of her time in a courtroom arguing legal cases and 10% punching dudes with Hulk strength.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I didn't know she was transphobic.
Yeesh. I kinda felt sorry for her when WWE fans turned on her in favour of Becky, but that's more or less melted away.
I don't know who Sandy Hook is, but I get the feeling I don't want to know more.
One Strip! One Strip!

Loki... River Cruise... are we getting Love Boat featuring Loki?
The legend has returned.
