Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Hey, if you're an alien on Sakaar, you're either a slaver or a slave, and it's better to be a slaver than a slave. She still turned on the Grandmaster pretty much immediately, her counterpart from the comic version, Caiera, had to be convinced over the whole arc to turn on the Red King.

Yeah, but Caiera had this whole "duty bound" deal going on, what with being raised as a Warrior Monk, Val aligned herself with the Grandmaster out of convenience, little else.
I love Val, but unknowing is right: she's one hell of a Karma Houdini.

the first thing she did was to capture and sell Thor, yeah she is and enslaver.

Neither THAT quick, it took while in order to break her cynicsm about the whole thing between Odin and Hela(the fact she serve a warmonger is another thing enterly).

"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Well is not a empire she topple, the grandmaster is not emperor or anything, just to be tecnical
Now it would be hilarious were people introduce Valkire as queen and when someone ask "of what?" she will said "of.....this area, that it"
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"I think what it baffle me of Valkire being a slaver is how nobody coment on it even when she, the women of color, capture and slave a white, nordic dude in gladiatorial games, it sound like the premise of a bady writen sword and sorcery novel and yet people never make a fuss about it.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Because it's not a full race flip across the entire fictional culture like Save the Pearls.
I, however, will not. Knock that shit off about “why is nobody talking about this black woman enslaving this white man?”
You’re heading into waters you are not ready to discuss.

Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.![]()
Ok, I will drop bit because other trope ask and it could make stuff unconfortable, but "that shit" wasnt mine, it was from the damn movie and I feel i can complain about I see as tasteless in the same vein many have complain about other stuff(Mantis status), I hope we dont have a problem with that.
That being said and the theme being drop, any change jourmungader will appear? Im mad he didnt show up in ragnarok, serpernt of midgar vs hulk would be awsome.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"

Right, they bring it up repeatedly despite the fact she was never really a slaver to begin with, the point is,they need to stop beating that poor dead horse
