Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

God, I want a Hulk movie so bad. Damn you, Universal.
She-Hulk is timed perfectly, though. I've wanted her to get something for years, but admittedly MCU Bruce hadn't been in the place before that he would ever come forward and give her a blood transfusion, nor that anyone would - say - think to do it even without him.
Now it's still a really bad idea, but it's not implausible.
Hopefully the show will be used to finally give Jennifer and Bruce a mythos in the MCU.

I did enjoy IM 2 on my rewatch. It was a mess, but a fun mess!
When we're done, there won't be anything left."Fun" and "a mess" are about the best way to describe it. It's the popcorniest flick of the MCU.
Does have one of my all-time favorite (non-action) scenes, though. Y'all know which one I'm talking about.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I wouldn't say utterly irrelevant.
Even though he tries to manage it better after IM 3, Tony's space ptsd drives a lot of his actions.
And even though he tried to manage it better, the seeds of his relationship troubles with Pepper in future movies are here.
And whatever you feel about MCU Spiders-Man, his realization that he's Iron Man with or without the suit drives his scolding of Peter in Homecoming.
A lot of bits come up in various ways.
Him still having it afterward doesn't really make the movie inconsequential since its the movie that brought up that he had space PTSD.
And in fairness, Tony never stops being an alcoholic after Demon in a Bottle. Its why its a character trait of his that he never drinks and also had sympathy for Carol Danvers when she was having her own demon in a bottle problem.

Forever liveblogging the Avengers
x3 His anxieties still lead him to screw up, his relationship with Pepper has always been rocky because Tony is himself a toxic person, well-intentioned thoygh he may be, and while it is kind of brought up in Homecoming that realization couod've hit him anytime before or afterwards that movie.
As I say, I like Iron Man 3, I just feel it doesn't move anything forward.
And it's not even its fault, really, Age of Ultron just reset all of the progress Tony made as a character in that movie.
Thankfully, Civil War picked that ball and portrayed Tony as someone who constantly self-sabotages his own efforts to improve, but then again the Russos are the masters of MCU continuity, whatever else you say about them.
