Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Yeah, this doesn't really scream "entitled". He's just cracking a joke.
Disgusted, but not surprisedEh, I'm not so sure about that. However, as everyone seems to think I'm wrong on the matter, I will drop it.
Let's move on to another question:
Do you think Guardians 3 was meant to lead into The Eternals? Maybe when the whole Gunn thing went down, they had to change some things around, and now it'll be Eternals, Thor, Doctor Strange, etc. that will lead into the cosmic side of things? Guardians 3 would just be another sequel at that point
The hardest thing in this world is to live in it.I like the part in the follow-up tweet where he notes that if they did recast him, they'd probably hire a white guy named Chris.
I feel that.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.![]()
Or Chris is a random name for a white dude. Seriously, you are jumping all over the place. It’s coming off as though you have a grudge against him.

Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Or more like there are at least 3 Chrises in the MCU right now, or at least were. Doesn't it make sense it would be the one he's been working with?
And, given that everyone is all over the "he was just joking" idea, was it not obvious that mine was a joke as well?
The hardest thing in this world is to live in it.Or maybe the joke is that there's a lot of white people named Chris in the MCU, given that that's been a relatively popular in-joke among MCU fans for years now.
I'm not sure where the assumption that he's specifically taking a potshot at one of them comes from.

No. No, it does not, especially if it’s a joke. Chris is not an uncommon name, especially for a white dude.
And considering your previous posts, forgive me if I do not give you the benefit of the doubt.

Of the upcoming movies, Eternals might be the one I'm most interested in/most hesitant about. It sounds awesome, a whole team of gods with a very interesting cast and a huge scale. On the other hand, I'm unfortunately getting some hard Inhumans vibes from the whole production.
On the other other hand, I was one of the people most excited when Inhumans was announced as a movie, and one of the people most disappointed when it was changed to an awful tv show. I just don't want to be burned again.
I'm interested to see what comes of Eternals. I recently watched director Chloé Zhao's prior movie The Rider and it was stunningly down to earth and realistic so I'm curious what a film where she's allowed to go as fantastical as can be will look like.
Well, Blade is just way too far away for me to get excited about it, so the one I'm most excited for in the meantime is Shang-Chi, pure martial arts goodness is my jam and something the MCU was really missing.
Just the bootleg Oldboy-hallway fight scene from Daredevil already left everyone slack jawed, imagine what a crew with an actual budget behind it could do.
Second place is probably Doctor Strange, horror is Derrickson's usual playground so I wanna see what he can do now that the origin story is out of the way.
