Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

In other news, Dave Bautista appears to be self-destructing again. He got James Gunn back and he still won't stop bitching. Does he even want to stay with Marvel anymore?

You have to admit he has a history of this sort of thing
I gathered from his tweets that he's U Nhappy with the way Drax is portrayed in the films, quite different from his comics counterpart

The hardest thing in this world is to live in it.Is b***h a gendered insult? I've heard it used for both men and women. If so, I apologize
I like Bautista, I think he's a fine actor and is supposedly a lovely person in real life. I just think he's getting to think he's a lot bigger than he actually is
The hardest thing in this world is to live in it.That's very true.
It's just like, okay, he worked so hard to get James Gunn back, being willing to sacrifice the role that made him what he is, and now that it's happened, he's still complaining! And may very end up getting himself fired if he keeps it up. Disney/Marvel may just get sick of it at some point
Like I've said elsewhere, either he's just gotten a big ego, or he has some undiagnosed self-destructive tendencies. Or both
The hardest thing in this world is to live in it.![]()
Gamora was pretty hard done by. Her badassery was seriously reduced and she was relegated to pretty much being nothing but Quill's love interest and a prize to be fought over before being fridged by Thanos.
You don't hear Zoe Saldana complaining about it
The same could be said for Mantis, who is NOTHING like her comics counterpart, so much so that her creator disavowed it
My point is, don't bite the hand that feeds you, especially one as powerful as Disney.

The hardest thing in this world is to live in it.My point is, being whiny and entitled accomplishes nothing.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: If he's not happy, he should just ask to be let go, instead of sticking around to fulfill his contract and making the environment miserable for all of his co-workers. It's just poor form
The hardest thing in this world is to live in it.
