Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Gah, IGN is buttering Holland and Fiege's recent statement's as actual confirmation that MCU!Spidey is done.
PR tricks are PR tricks.
Anyway, She-Hulk may not be the only Marvel character we weren't sure was feasible...
Under the sea, under the sea...
Honestly, I'd rather we not throw around conspiracy theories and tinfoil hatting regarding the Sony deal until we get new official statements of any kind. It's getting extremely tiring. Opinions and personal speculation stemming from official statements on the matter are fine, microanalyzing is another.
Eh, yeah, it’s probably healthy that we lay off the Spider whatever for now
Here’s something official!
It's Black Widow's white suit as seen in D23.
I swear to god, if this Black Widow movie doesn't end with Natasha popping up and saying yeah, I just broke out. That death was stupid, I'm gonna be so nettled.
They haven't revived anyone in the movies yet (due to the tenuous connection with the series, Coulson doesn't count) so Natasha can be the first one that's acknowledged.
She deserves it too.
One Strip! One Strip!
Shit someone better tell half of the universe that they never got revived.
I mean, in the end it all depends on Scar Jo. How does she feels about making more movies as Black Widow?

....I mean, anyone not snapped.
Because the blippenation (Snappening / Blip / Decimation) is kinda it's own thing as far as I'm concerned.

One Strip! One Strip! So apparently WandaVision will include Darcy from the Thor franchise, Jimmy Woo from the Ant-Man franchise, and Monica Rambeau. All apparently with strong sitcom influences of the Dick van Dyke era.
I feel like the more I hear about the show the less I understand it. That's not a bad thing, just a sign that this show is going to be really different.
I think we all know by now that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. doesn't count.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I'm not even sure if Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is canon anymore. Season five ended with a direct tie-in to Infinity War... then season six didn't reference it at all despite the timeline putting it about a year after the Snap.
My guess is that the show is now in it's own continuity separate from the films. Maybe the point of divergence was that Tony's team got the Infinity Gauntlet off of Thanos on Titan and prevented the Snap from happening?
You'd think, but I just saw "Agents of SHIELD already had a gay superhero!" literally as soon as the announcement was made by Feige today. In fact, on Twitter I keep seeing people say "We already had Quake and Melinda May!" whenever someone calls Shang-Chi the MCU's first Asian superhero.
It's like, I get it, it sucks the way the show is ignored, but they must know by now most people aren't taking it into account when having these discussions.
That part I kind of get. What I'm puzzled by is how all of these seemingly random supporting characters fit into the picture.
To make a comparison with Falcon and Winter soldier, the 3 supporting characters we know about are Zemo, Sharon Carter, and US Agent (John Walker). All 3 of those characters have some sort of clear connection to the Falcon and the Winder Soldier or at least it's easy to speculate as to what it will be.note .
But with WandaVision we have 3 characters that neither Wanda nor Vision have ever met (as far as we know), have no clear thematic ties to either of them, and are most associated with Avengers Wanda and Vision have barely spent any time with.
Is Wanda Vision supposed to be one of the "What if" shows? Like what if Vision hadn't been killed? or is he actually revived somehow?
Like creepy stories? Check out my book!

Agents of SHIELD is good, but I don't think they'll realistically reference the stuff it was doing with the Inhumans. The show has been so ignored by the films that I don't see Marvel Studios tying it into the Ms. Marvel series.
