Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

In a way it makes sense. The X-Men are a much more viable property for building an entire mini-universe around than whatever Sony is attempting with Spider-Man. Deadpool, X-Factor, X-Force, the various teen/school spin-offs like the New Mutants, Generation X or Academy X...that's not even counting potential solo movies for characters like Wolverine, Storm, Cable, Gambit, ect...
Possibly even more so than the Avengers, the X-Men are basically a universe unto themselves. Fox sat on that gold mine for as long as possible before they finally pulled the trigger on Deadpool, but there's a lot of untapped potential there.

So, Dark Phoenix is partially responsible for this mess?
It's not often you see a film that can kill two franchises at once. But Dark Phoenix found a way.
Okay, I joke. But still... this isn't really helping matters.

Right. I don't know what's what anymore.
Until we get 100% factual claims on everything and no sudden nope! That's wrong! stuff, I'm just gonna hate everyone.
And when we do get the above, I'll hate them with a reason.
Because I just want Spiderman in my MCU, and all this other shit is just in the way. That's it. If it's in the way, it's no good.
One Strip! One Strip! Why do I expect at least one Take That! at Fox in a potential Marvel X-Men movie?
Nearly everyone is looking pretty bad on the Spider-Man issue. Hopefully, someone will make sense of it and things could work out.
Wake me up at your own risk.I don't really see any version of this where Disney doesn't eventually get Spider-Man sooner or later. They just have to sweat it out.
This song needs more love.Having not seen Dark Phoenix yet, what exactly is wrong with it?
Like creepy stories? Check out my book!![]()

Best case scenario for them would be a bunch of bombs in a row causing Sony to practically beg Disney to save their franchise.
