Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersChanging the subject, do we have any word on a Captain Marvel sequel? I admit to glazing over the SDCC lineup announcement, so I may have missed it.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!""Feige confirmed the film is in development at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con."
Based on the other movies with dates announced, its not going to be until 2022 or 23 at the earliest it seems

At the end of the presentation Kevin Feige confirmed that Captain Marvel 2, Black Panther 2, the Fantastic Four, and some kind of Mutants movie were all happening.
They just decided to focus on the next two years of movies and Disney+ shows in the actual presentation.
To speculate on what it will entail, I will say the fact they cast the adult Monica Rambeau for WandaVision indicates that it will probably take place in the "modern" time period. But that's just an educated guess.

At the end of the presentation Kevin Feige confirmed that Captain Marvel 2, Black Panther 2, the Fantastic Four, and some kind of Mutants movie were all happening.
And Blade. Revealed after that group, but presumably part of the same time frame of movies.
It's weird to me that this is the entire Phase 4, especially with how it's ending, not with an Avengers film, but with Thor: Love and Thunder.
I don't think this is the entire Phase 4. It's just the next two years of films.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Of those five Phase 4 films, it's going to be interesting to see how the marketing for The Eternals and Shang Chi goes, because I'm going to bet my bottom lip that nobody outside of comic fans has the slightest idea what those are.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"All things considered I think I'm the most excited for Eternals by far, since it's got a REALLY cool and interesting cast, a supposedly very talented director, and the concept just has so much potential.
Self-serious autistic trans gal who loves rock/metal and animation with all her heart. (she/her)I am actually kinda hyped with the two unknown, because as a result I have absolutely no idea what to expect from them. The result could be anything, and that got my curiosity at least.
But I admit I am both hyped and concerned for Blade. On the one hand, I am enthousiastic about vampires being added to the MCU. On the other hand, I am concerned they might end up just being generic Always Chaotic Evil vamps.
