Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Disney does own about 25% of movie theater ticket sales IIRC. And as pointed out, they sell a lot more than movies. Honestly, they're actually kind of a megacorp. They even own a small municipal government.
Having said that, it should be noted that by the standards of a megacorp, they are pretty weak. They've got nothing on Wal-Mart or Shell, for example.
Leviticus 19:34(Please ignore the storyline where Hickman gave him superpowers.)
Shang-Chi routinely fights outside of his weight class anyway. It's a bombastic kung fu action flick: they probably won't bother justifying anything, nor do they need to. The "these guys are doing things that are way outside of human ability" bit is part of the fun.

"Peak human" in Marvel terms has always been a tad bullshit at any rate.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Shang-Chi, just like Iron Fist, has mastered controlling his Chi.
So while he isn't superhuman in the classical sense, he isn't exactly 'human' either.

Two, in fact.
They mainly govern the land around Walt Disney World and permanent residence is, like, 10 people, though.

By the way, if you haven't actually seen it, this is the biggest mic drop in Comic-Con.
And here's the animated teaser for the Hawkeye series.
Featuring Kate Bishop, hell yeah.
On the subject of Blade, I am curious to see how they are going to integrate Vampires into the MCU given that it might be tricky to explain how they've gone unnoticed for so long.
The simplest way might be to establish that, for the past couple hundred years at least, Vampires have been extremely few in number (like a dozen total) who went to considerable lengths to hide their existence from the world at large. Potentially we only need a single living Vampire in the entire world, Deacon Frost, to be around at the time of Blade's birth.
That way they could of flown under the radar, and then at some point prior to the main story of Blade's movie, their numbers start to rise again. A problem Blade is uniquely suited to deal with. Likely with the help of people who have had vampire hunting techniques passed down to them from their ancestors.
Vampires believably fit into the same category of 'beneath the Avengers' notice' as everything going on in the Netflix shows
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThe vampires kept a very low-profile during the pre-Snap days, Vampire: The Masquerade-style, as a way of keeping themselves safe.
After the Snap, with the governments of the world losing their strength and socuety in general going down the drain, they started increasing their numbers and taking more overt actions now that there is less risk of them being hunted to extiction.

A Spy Kids-esque Power Pack movie seems about right to me. Maybe not my kind of movie, but it fits.
