Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

To be honest the only thing I know about him is that while he doesn't have explicit superpowers he's basically the greatest marital artist on the planet.
His father in the comics was originally Fu Manchu, I believe that's been retconned since Marvel doesn't own that character and I think never technically had the rights (my understanding is that they erroneously thought the character was in the public domain). Not to mention the heavy Yellow Peril stereotypes the character is associated with.
Regardless, in the MCU his father will almost certainly be the real Mandarin, given how heavily featured that character is going to be in the Shang-Chi movie.

Okay, so they announced five films:
- May 1, 2020 — Black Widow
- November 6, 2020 — The Eternals
- February 12, 2021 — Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
- May 5, 2021 — Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
- November 5, 2021 — Thor: Love and Thunder
And four Disney+ shows:
- Fall 2020 — Falcon and the Winter Soldier
- Spring 2021 — WandaVision
- Spring 2021 — Loki
- Summer 2021 — What If?
- Fall 2021 — Hawkeye
Then Feige announced, "Black Panther 2 is coming. Guardians 3 is coming. Captain Marvel 2 is coming. The Fantastic Four is coming."
Then he said, "There’s no time left to talk about mutants, right?"
And then he announced that Mahershala Ali was Blade.
And then he dropped the fucking mic.

Wonder how Wesley Snipes feels about it, tho. Maybe he could pass the torch in some way?

He died so he could be reborn as Blade.
I mean, there were some teases about him coming back in some way...
Now I'm wondering if it'd be too much or too early to have Jordan Peele directing.
So it's done now, right?

Blade coming back is fitting.
Before X-Men or Sony Spiderman, he was the first good comic book movie.
If Iron Man is the father of the MCU, then Blade is the father of truly entertaining Comicbook movies period.
