Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

short answer? no.
Long answer: Aside of fight starting with a joke of banner jumping and not transforming, the fight ending with both falling(really?), I didnt find the fight impresive, the ship chase in sakaar or hell, thor and surgur little fight look more impresive to me.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"I mean when Riri gets added (and I feel that's very much a when and not an if), there's difficulty with regards to villains given she hasn't been around that long. Now, I am not keeping up with her ongoing, but to my understanding she is currently in conflict with the Ten Rings, the very same terrorist organization from Iron Man 1. That being said, I trust Feige and co's ability to get filmmakers who can square that circle (which honestly isn't a dealbreaker given the MCU's historic success in spite of lackluster villains in the beginning).
There's also the fact that both Zeke and Sasha are legacies for rogues the cinematic equivalent has already fought.

And the whole Sins of Our Fathers has already been done enough times, no? Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, Black Panther, Ant-Man, even Doctor Strange, in a way.
I think it would be for the best to bring back the Ten Rings as Reri's primary villains, same way HYDRA always has a hand in Cap films.
The first film would be Reri stbling on some major Ten Rings operation and foiling it, the second with her taling the fight to the Mandarin himself, and the third would be the renmants of the organization targeting her specifically as revange.
That's a trilogy right there.
Aldritch Killian was also basically Ezekiel Stane two steps removed, so he'd be cutting in a little close.
I'd say they should use someone who's not "interchangeable corrupt white guy number 700" for the villain. At best I think they could go with a proper Diabolical Mastermind Evil Old Folks version of Justin Hammer (say he's Justin Hammer's father/uncle or something who came out of retirement to handle Hammer industries after Justin's arrest) but even that's a little repetitive.
Out of the remaining IM foes I'd say either Controller (with his shtick of hijacking armors) or Spymaster (due his industrial espionage shenanigans) provide the more intriguing matches, power-wise, but they're also rather thin on character so I guess it's anyone's game.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."This is actually something I've been meaning to ask, but what does seperates a simply Asian villain from an Yellow Peril? I can't say I'm in any way familiar with the stereotype.
Though even I can tell they should most definitaly change the name.
x2 Honestly, I think cribbing the Makulan rings from Armored Adventures would be a pretty compelling set up if they want to that sort of route. Gets you a nice set of plot coupons that allow for visually interesting fights and they provide a potentially compelling backstory to Fin Fang Foom.

The distinguishing trait is that a Yellow Peril villain is written to invoke fears of America (and the world) getting taken over by Asian nations. See China Takes Over the World , Japan Takes Over the World, etc. Think films like Blade Runner, with its vision of Los Angeles under heavy Japanese influence as dystopic, or Star Wars Episode I's villains being thinly-veiled Space Fu Manchu.

Being Asian is not a problem. However, if your villain's main distinctive trait is being Asian, you have a problem.
Oh, and I'm about to finish Jessica's first season tomorrow. So, does Hogarth go anywhere after Pam and her break off?
Also, Hogarth stole a deceased fetus. Why is this not mentioned more!?
Man, a lot of Simpson's stuff feels as though it's putting in the groundwork for season 2 while not being very connected to Kevin or his stuff. IGS, Kozlov's drugs, Jessica's powers after the accident...
After that, Luke Cage season 2. It supposedly makes up forLuke Cage season one.
Is there anything I need to be reminded of from season one before I go into season two?
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position. You actually might want to watch The Defenders before you check out season 2 of Luke Cage.
The latter spoils a plot point or two for the former.
Also, some stuff from Dare Devil season 2 and Iron Fist season 1 also lead into Defenders.
...get some pain killer for Iron Fist season 1. Nothing makes people angrier than that series.
One Strip! One Strip!Iron Fist s1 is still bad though. It improves a lot in the second half, but not to the point it becomes great, and that first half is insufferably boring. It's legitimately some of the worst television I have seen in a long time. if I hadn't decided to watch it from beginning to end for a review I was gonna write, I would have never sat through it.

My first immediate thought for an Iron Man villain who wasn't used is The Living Laser, one of my favorites concept-wise. I always figured they could give him the origin of being the accidental result of a human attempt to replicate the Bifrost, since that was a thing in the earlier Marvel movies.
Also MODOK, though he's more a shared villain between Iron Man and Cap. Also the Maggia: they technically appeared in Agent Carter, but as a more traditional mafia with little in common with the comics concept, so they could pretty much just bring in Count Nefaria at any time.
I'm still shocked, shocked, that neither Zeke Stane or Sasha Hammer showed up in Agents of SHIELD. Young, hip science/corrupt businessmen villains to match our young hip lineup science spy heroes? Seemed like a no brainer, especially in the early seasons.
I could see Justine Hammer, though, if they do the Crimson Cowl. If the connection to Hammer is a problem, they could even just change her last name or something. Especially if we get the Thunderbolts, she would make an interesting replacement for leader if they decide not to do Zemo for that.
On the flipside, they could bring in Sasha but connect her to the Mandarin instead, since he's her dad.

I wouldn't know, I never watched it to the end because after reading through a bit of the comic run it was adapting I was expecting Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon meets The Raid, or R-rated Ong-Baknote .
I think I managed to get through about an episode and an half before washing my hands off the thing entirely.

Yeah, ok, sure, like Hulk fighting a giant wolf while Thor descended wreathed in lightning while Immigrant Song blasted wasn’t one of the most spectacular things put on film in the MCU.
