Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

If the Skrulls get to be more sympathetic and nuanced than usual then we need something to contrast that against, and the Kree drew the short straw there. I don't honestly recall the Kree in general being all that interesting anyway compared to the Skrulls or Shiar (if they decide to use those now).
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."In agents of shield it’s that the Kree have been dicking around with Earth for a while
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI still do kinda hope to see at least some Kree being good guys, if just to avoid Always Chaotic Evil.
I just realized, we never did get to see a Kree Sentry.
Though unless the Kree end up as villains for more than one series, that's ship has probably sailed. Unless they're even more powerful than warships, Carol can make mincemeat out of them at this point.
It'd be like introducing Sentinels so they can try and take on the Phoenix.
I dunno if we'll be seeing them as major villains, though. Minor villains and characters, maybe, but...
Something really needs to change in order for them to be a physical or emotional challenge for Carol in her future films, plus we already know Guardians is skewing towards whatever direction Adam Warlock is going to take them, and Eternals is almost certainly not going to deal with them what with having to introduce their own mythos.

I think the easiest route would be to make The Supreme Intelligence the central antagonistic force from now on. The Battle in the Center of the Mind between Carol and the Intelligence felt like the sort of inconclusive duel you build up more on a sequel.

"All you Fascists bound to lose."Another stupid idea for the next Avengers/teamup/crossover movie: Captain Universe.
Basically, involving a godlike alien entity possessing random people (including several heroes) for what turns out to be a virtuous cause of monumental importance, but the heroes don't know that and the entity isn't great at communication and people just assume those who were previously possessed and claim they weren't doing evil things are mind controlled or something (since invading aliens - even technically invading - kind of freak MCU humans out something fierce these days) - so they go from fighting against it and its odd machinations at first to fighting with it against its foe towards the end.
Better yet, the whole thing would be from the perspective of the heroes, not Captain Universe himself, so the movie feels like something akin to The Thing and the twist would thus be that it's not.
My other idea for a Captain Universe movie is like one of those 80's kid hero movies where the kid gets chosen to wield great power to save the universe, but has to let it go in the end, like The Last Starfighter.

We need to collectively shank Sony so they'll just let go of Spiderman completely.
I mean, trying to make a Spiderman universe without Spiderman is getting really annoying.
Just Stahp!
One Strip! One Strip!
I don't think Venom was too bad tbh. But I didn't think it was good either. It lands in that weird case of either So Bad, It's Good or So Okay, It's Average for me.
Oh, the interaction between Brock and the Symbiote was great in my opinion.
But to me, it's still stupid movie.
One Strip! One Strip!

Another day, another destiny.
This never-ending road to Calvary;
These men who seem to know my crime
Will surely come a second time.
One day more!
