Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I'm expecting Carol's second movie to be more cosmic-centric. She's got unfinished business with the Kree and Supreme Intelligence, after all. Maybe we'll see her get more outwardly angry at them. It was a cool moment seeing Carol defeat Yon-Rogg quickly rather than indulge in his bullshit, but the Kree in the MCU do kind of deserve people being pissed at them.
Self-serious autistic trans gal who loves rock/metal and animation with all her heart. (she/her)And also in the comics.
The Kree are the biggest assholes in space
Forever liveblogging the AvengersYon-rogg last scene was okey(I kinda saw coming and even then I really wanted carol to beat the shit of him hand to hand combat) and it fit him being a overcompensating douche(I kinda feel sorry for him...kinda), but I feel for me that capitan marvel is going to be an antman 2 were the sequel is so superior I forget the previous one.

Didn't think I'd be typing that out. My apologies. Thank God this isn't a page topper.

Self-serious autistic trans gal who loves rock/metal and animation with all her heart. (she/her)I honeslty didn't find Yon-Rogg nearly dickish enough, personally. Like, he evoked no hatred from me whatsoever. I... HATED Black Mariah by the end of Luke Cage season 2.
But I hated her because of her awfulness... on TOP of how effective she was. True hateability requires power of some kind. I can't hate someone who's worthless.
Kaze ni Nare!
Yeah, Mariah was quite the Hate Sink by the end of this season. Again, that played a big part in making me like Bushmaster.
Neil Gaiman once pitched a Marvel 1602 show to Marvel Television.
They declined. And while I understand why — dear God, I would have loved to see it.
Due to a time travel incident (Captain America being thrown back in time after the Purple Man took over the US), the Age of Heroes came about three hundred years earlier than it should have. Specifically, in the year 1602.
It features Dr. Stephen Strange as the Queen's court magician, Sir Nicholas Fury as the Queen's spymaster, Peter Parquah as Sir Nicholas's assistant, blind minstrel Matt Murdoch as one of Fury's agents, and so on.

Basically an alternate universe where the Marvel heroes start emerging in Elizabethan England. The Fantastic Four are sailors who were transformed by a magical storm, the X-men are “witchbreed” being hunted for blasphemy, Magneto and his children serve the Inquisition, Thor is a Catholic priest with a lot of guilt about transforming into a Norse god, a bunch of other characters, etc.

If they adapted 1602 with Fury appearing in the film, I think it would be pretty cool if they kept Jackson in the role, as a descendant of John Blanke
of Henry VIII’s court.
Perhaps the Tudors’ musicians have been spies all along. :D

Even with those two make a total of what, three space relate movies?
I fail to see the problem with that; most MCU movies stick to a specific genre that's unique to them. Frankly, three space-related movie already is a lot by this franchise's standards.
Also, it's her origin story. We'll probably see her face more cosmic threats later movies.
